post comments about the movie, favorite past F13/Nightmare films, and who do you prefer Freddy or Jason and why.

Personally, I prefer the Ice Cream Man:

Jason is just an asswipe. Is it justifiable hacking somebody up just because they're getting some and your not? Half of those situations could have been avoided if he had just asked, "Is there room for one more. He's just a one trick pony, hack and stab, hack and stab. He doesn't even try to get on your good side.
On the other hand Freddy is much more charismatic. He's good for a joke or two. He'll off a kid in his own little creative ways. Most of the people he jacks around with you find annoying too.

I'm wondering if this movie will do well. Maybe 15 years ago it would have done better.

Dark Horizons has a story on a proposed Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash sequel.

No, not Ash from Pokemon.

Evil Dead Ash. :D

Yeah thinking back I think i remember the cause of his death was horny teenagers not paying attention while he was drowing. Okay I can see getting pissed about that, but after the two dozen kills I think it's time for reflection.

Even at age 14, I would prefer Freddy Adu to Jason Kreis. Oh wait, wrong forum.

The whole jason/Friday 13th series has been milked to death...The first 3 parts were pretty good but parts 4 and onwards are diabolical.
They find new stupid ways to resurect him in each film...In jason X he was resurected in the year 2400 and killed people on board a spaceship.
Funny considering he started life as a deformed inbred who lived in a woodland shack...

He was also angry about the death of his mother at the hands of the camp councilors.
In part two he butchered a load of teen campers and councilors as revenge for what happened to his mother.
But why the hell did he kill all the other people in the other parts?? The other flims were just cynical money making stunts.
I actually enjoyed part 3 though.

Haven't seen it; probably won't, but I laughed out loud on the bus today reading this review:

There really should be a Street Fighter esque video game with all of the horror movie bad guys ever. If you beat all of the fighters, the boss at the end would be Alfred Hitchcock. His special move would be to command a flock of birds to attack you.

I wonder if i could make any money off of this?

I wonder if i could make any money off of this? I'm sure you could make a fortune. However, you'd have to have a fortune to get the rights to all the different characters.

I saw the movie today and it kiccked a$$ compared to the last 5 of each of the movies in there respective history.

I am a big fan of both series for what they are worth in terms of lacking any reality and real scares other than the first 2 Nightmares and 3 Friday's.

I personally like the Freddy charcter more and enjoyed his movies since they were more centered around his creative ways to kill and glib remarks, the Jason movies were fun to me as well but I watched them more when I was real young(like the 7-10 range) to get long looks at really large and nude teen knockers(check out the 5th installment for the best nude chicks ;)).

I kind of find it odd though when I think about how really the backstory on Freddy is often forgotten other than the fire that killed his human form, the fact that he was a child murder and molester in the story should make all of the decent people of the World cheer his demise everytime he gets killed off in a movie.

The people at New Line were smart about using that as a backstory but not showing any of it since most people would be repulsed at a person killing off small childern on screen, but letting you use your own mind to build the back story you often think he would kill teens because thats the target in his afterlife.

New Line finally showed a fair bit of the Freddy backstory in the start of this film showing him before his first demise at the hands of the Springfield towns people and he had a little girl in his basement and tourmented her before cutting her up with his razor claws (which was not shown on-screen btw, she did make a later cameo in the movie missing her eyes, also making the comment Freddy loved little girls the most).

This was interesting to me because it made Freddy seem more sinister than the past movies and struck a nerve with me as well because we all know there are no dreamstalkers who try prey on sleeping teens but real child killers who get their sick jollies off that stuff.

There is talk of making a sequal to this movie if box office returns are good and even a Freddy Perquel showing him before he became the Nightmare version, I am not too sure if that will ever get made due to the content and children being murdered on screen, I for one will go to see it if I can sit through its content becasue of loyality to the series but I can't see it being a type of movie that makes Freddy a cool anti-hero since he will be just a scum bag child killer in that flick.

Really? The biggest set I can remeber on any girl in any of the movies was perhaps a hearty B cup.
If I remember correctly the child molester-rapist-gerbill murder angle was really played up in the 5th Freddy movie. Before that it was lightly peppered through out the other movies, but it seems the producers wanted the audience to have more anger towards Freddy and not celebrate as much everytime another annoying bastard/ess got the walking papers.

I was disappointed in the movie. It had a good premise but overall i thought it was stupid. Luckily it had more of the Wes Craven Freddy rather than the Joke cracking Freddy but still the scenes were rushed and the acting was hideous. And how in the first hour of the movie did the teens figure out how Freddy and Jason ended up on Elm street and how to kill both of them? Were these kids MENSA or something? I also wonder if anyone under 25 even knows about Freddy or Jason.

By the way, Sinner ROnald Monk, Jason X wasn't as bad as you make it out to be....

I wonder how bad the power outage will affect this movie. I drove an hour way to a city with power just to eat a warm meal and happened to run into a theatre....but I would imagine Freddy Vs Jason lost a few million because of the number of theatres not open on Friday.
