Doesn´t help, nobody creates chances today.
Currently it looks more like a 3-0 than a 2-1.

Yeah... Bremen just didn't produce anything today. The Rangers' defense was too tough to break down for them. The game finished 2-0, no away goal advantage for us. The return leg next week is gonna be tough as hell. We can't afford to concede a goal at home...

But I think our problem will be breaking down the Rangers' defense. They will be looking to defend their lead in Bremen.

Bremen were heavy favourites to win this tie, but once again the lesson seems to be that a high-scoring brand of football helps to succeed in the league as it avoids draws, but that tournament success must be build on solid defence, you don't go out as long as you don't concede...

Wiese needs to be deducted two months of his salary for the first goal against. The second was a mistake too but can happen.

Sure, they ´ll propably play like most of the 2nd half.
Schaaf needs to think about the tactic, because the breaking
a solid defense trought the flanks sucks, when no player
can play a good cross. Wiese had a very bad day today.
He brought us on the loosing track with a clumsy action and
an unlucky action, where he cleared a shot to a Rangers player.
I hope he can get over bringing the team on the loosing track
and ´ll show good performances in the next matches.

Rangers totally outsmarted us. They would have been happy with a goalless draw. Why can't we play like that for once??
Wiese was responsible for the first goal alone but sh!t like that can happen. The 2nd goal was not his fault alone. At least 2 more players screwed up. But why do we have to concede 2 goals in order to start fighting?

I have to say this was not shit which happens but it was probably the most dreadful goalkeeping blunder I have (as far as I can remember) ever seen in a live match. Worse things than this only happen on youtube.

The team fighted the whole time IMO,
so no offense from me at this topic.
But they played as you said total inefficient
and some players brought us with crucial mistakes
on the losing track, not the first time.
The same happened in the CL against Piräus and Lazio,
last year against Espanyol in UEFA-cup.
Not to speak of our away record,
that´s all things that must be discussed.

Schaaf must find a solution and the players must
stop making crucial mistakes in such matches.

Yes, they outplayed us alright. They had a good solid defense along with quick and potent counter attacks. We didn't deserve to win today but I did wish we could have scored just one goal.

Rangers played much better than us, but it is true about our own mistakes. We were dispossessed of the ball too easily by holding the ball too long and really bad passes. We held a fair share of ball possession but although we tried to go forward as possible, we were really slow at it. I hope Schaaf does find a solution, but it's tough. Although, I really don't want to say it's over... anything can happen.

Hah, yeah they were awful blunders. Mistakes do happen but Wiese is capable of handling the ball a bit better than he did with those goals. Goalkeepers just have their moments I guess.

Cudos to Rangers for a real solid defense

That's their strength, especially at Ibrox. Well, when you are so generous and gift them 2 goals ... you shouldn't be surprised about this result.

Wiese's blackouts and your away weakness will probably cost you the next round against a team you normally should be able to beat.

Exactly. It's not like you guys pulled an "Anderlecht" and lost 5-0 at home. You guys can do this, but you're going to have to fight like hell to pull it off.

With the way Wiese blew it, he should be should under consideration to start for England.....

2 down is gonna be tough to come back from, but it's certainly not insurmountable. If we can just pull off a 2-0, 3-0 or 4-1 victory next Thursday, we're in good shape. It would have been nice to grab an away goal, but the attack was simply not performing, and the Rangers did a good job of stifling what little they had to.

Hey, bad luck Werder. I wasn't surprised by how the game went, i always assumed we would be quite negative and defensive in our tactics.

However, i think your formation made it easy for us, the diamond in midfield against a midfield 5 is suicide. If you watch any of our games either in the Chapions League of in the SPL, you can see our best players and thus our strength is in the middle of the pitch. So when you play a midfield diamond and try to use only your full backs for width you are in trouble.

I wouldn't blame your players as much, except for Wiese, as it seems your coaches tactics are too inflexible.

Most of you players were looking for the ball into feet to turn at us, and Rosenberg seemed the only one who wanted to get in behind us. Its difficult to turn into 3 central midfielder and a narrow defence and create anything.

Your best chance will be to use bigger players and attack with more width, otherwise you are playing into our hands in Bremen.

Despite the mistakes by Wiese i think we deserved to win, especially after McCulloch's chance that was cleared by Naldo. It was a great challenge by Naldo, but we should have scored.

I look forward to the next leg, where i'm expecting Werder to play much better, like i know they can. I don't think we are through yet, but i doubt we'll lose too many goals, if we do it'll probably lead to extra time. I can't see us losing 3 goals unless its an extremely poor performance. Its possible though.

Conceding a goal isn't the end of the world. Especially for Werder who are theoretically capable of creating lots of scoring opportunities. But for some reason it doesn't work out anymore. I think it would help a lot if we played two games in a row with the same lineup but this season is so cursed that it probably won't happen.

if we go out of the UEFA Cup without scoring a single goal it can't be Wieses fault.
