With the baseball season right around the corner I figured I would start a thread where we can discuss all things Mets/Yanks.

I'll start it off with a Post article from today about the Met/Philly rivalry(Im really starting to hate the Phils):

I dont like the phillies but i still hate the Cards - from the 80s and I was at Game 7 two years ago. I still dont like the Pirates - late 80s and the Braves - the Phils still have a long way to go for my pure hatred. I need a few more years of battling it out. Dont get me wrong - not a phillies supporter- ha ha - but i still hate teh above mentioned teams more!

For me the Braves have to be number one.Of course the Yanks are up there but that is a local rivalry and they dont have much of an effect on our season.

Last night I was watching the replay of the Mets/Sox spring training game from this weekend and I have to say that Santana looks effin filthy! He looks like he is already in summer form. Also its good too see alot of the injured players coming back.We need big years out of Beltran and Delgado.

Not only can Santana pitch, but the boy can hit and play defense as well

I hear we're trading Angel Pagan for Coco Crisp ?

Good call,he really hustles off the mounds when he has to cover first. And overall he covers his position extremely well.He is def a great hitter to and that will help alot.

I didn't hear about that trade.Pagan looks good in the spring but he is prob just on a hot streak.I would love to get Coco just so I can wear that jersey. That is one of the greatest names in baseball history lol.

Others:
Milton Bradley
Pee Wee Reese
Pokey Reese(who was the shortstop on the Reds who played with Pokey and had a hysterical name as well?)

At Tradition Field in St. Lucie they have that great right field section thats all grass and people just sit or lay there, they should have that in a MLB stadium. That would be amazing on a nice day/night.
