Boro always seem to give us fits, but this one is at home after a big European win so I expect the players and the supporters to be up for this one. Here is the lineup I think Rafa will go with, but I am not sure about injuries, if anyone jumps on my back about the lineup I will hurt you. ;)

-----------------------Reina------------------------
Arbeloa-------Carra---------Skrtel----------Riise
Benayoun----Gerrard------Alonso---------Kewell
---------------Crouch-------Kuyt-----------------

Subs - Itandje, Hyypia, Lucas, Pennant, Torres

I wouldn't be surprised if Pennant started, so if that is the case Yossi moves to the bench. Has anyone been working on the Jermossi Penayoun experiment?

i'll be interested to see if Alves plays this game for them. Would like to see what he's really like under English PL pressure. Or after one good Carra tackle.

Same ol same ol, break Downing in half and you half nullified their scoring threat by 90%

Torres will start.

Also - please apply the pressure from the get go. no f'ing around.

That makes 45% right? ;)

i'm going to go out on a limb and guess that rafa keeps his same starting lineup from the inter game... after all, i believe that the last time he left a side unchanged was after our CL victory over beskitas for the fulham game...

i think we will keep the momentum going and dominate this game... at least 3-0... torres WILL score, i would think that he's still mad he barely missed those two shots against inter, and he'll take that out on southgate's boys...

i like that lineup grinners.

no worries over tactics Rafa, they each know their basic responsibilities. let them flow, let them get forward, let them put up a 4 goal performance.

I'm not even going to try to predict line ups anymore, there is no use.

I just hope the core of our team starts, other than that I don't really care. If Rafa really wants to clinch that final CL spot he should just put out his strongest players. It's obvious that we suffer whenever they don't play.

2-0 to the good- I've given up on lineups as well- but I predict the same team as the CL fixture! ;)

Does this mean that predicting draws is outlawed? I must go with a win or loss!?!?

It seems as if Agger is finally back (http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0500liverpoolfc/0100news/tm_headline=daniel-agger-set-to-be-eased-back-into-action%26method=full%26objectid=20510104%26siteid=50061-name_page.html)from injury but may not play. That is at the same time we shall be without Skrtel (injured) and Carragher (suspension). Just what we need after a European high.

The Skirts good to go.Actually getting a day off for Cara is not a bad idea. Nothing to rest for and no midweek game, so i would think a strong team, but i bet Xabi gets a chance even though lucas did no wrong to speak of.

Pepe

Arbs Skrtel Sami Fabio

Pen Xabi Steve Babel

Torres Kuyt

I'm assuming Masch is suspended for this one since everyone left him out of their teams? This could leave our defense exposed especially if everyone is not fully fit. It might be a good time to throw Agger back out there. You don't want to rush it, but if he's fit he should just play.

Should be interesting to see where Rafa uses Kuyt. Will he start him out wide again? I wouldn't be shocked to see all 3 strikers starting.

WE ARE PLAYING BORO. AT HOME! expose our defense? you've been listening to Rafa too long. we do not need to attempt to negate the tactics of an inferior opponent at Anfield. this is why Benitez won't win the league. other teams should be adjusting to us and sitting on their back foot. next thing you know we'll only use forward against Wigan...
