Just in from Sky Sports in the last 10 minutes. Paulo Di Canio has just signed a one year deal with the Addicks.

I've got mixed feelings. He can score, setup others and play with Charlton-like passion. Thats all great but his temper and outbursts do not fit the Charlton mold. Lets hope we get the former and not the later.

I honestly thought he would go to Portsmouth .
But he is a quality signing for Charlton and im sure he'll produce the goods.

Let's hope he scores goals and sets up other goals. But plays as a team player. I doubt it. A rather expensive signing for just one year. Should have used the money for some youth players.

I think it's a great signing. DiCanio has been a real pro for the past couple of years. Just hope he can stay healthy.

Here are a few links to articles about the signing:

The best quote here is by Alan Curbishley:
"I took no-one's advice on Paolo, I knew what I wanted to know about him," said Curbishley. "Every time we played West Ham he frightened the life out of me."

Lets hope that fear manifests itself through goals not through bruttishness.

This article is from Di Canio point of view on why he chose Charlton.

A couple of nice quotes:
"I wanted to play in England. I had the chance to move abroad, I had the chance to play in Italy or in other countries where the football is not very good."

"For me it is important to play in a place where the people have passion and are professional."
