I'll step off DF. Apparently, I'm the antagonist here.......

(The "smiley" is not directed at you DF.....)

No problems Keith, I just saw that it was straying off topic into the personal. I know the subject matter can be contentious, but I do think it is a great subject of conversation. Can we get it back on track?? :)

I'm sure they can, but I think I should step off this topic. I allowed myself to become incensed and it will only happen again.

I'll retreat to the threads where I don't have a problem remaining rational.

Which seems to be every other one........

Man, what a fascinating post mate. I'd love to find out more about Munich and its footballing history. Are there any websites (in either English German or even Boarisch ;) ) which have more info on his history & culture?

JF

Thanks for the history lessons man! I have to go and pound one of my buddies up in Erlangen next weekend! He gave me the story backwards!! LOL!! :D

I took this information from the book Die Bayern (http://www.amazon.de/Die-Bayern-Geschichte-deutschen-Rekordmeisters/dp/3895335347) by Dietrich Schulze-Marmeling.

This book is highly recommended to anybody interested in the history of FC Bayern München e.V. What makes it especially interesting is that the author is a committed BVB fan (I'm sure you have heard of him, Keith).

You can try the Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TSV_1860_Munich) for a light version of the 1860 history. Of course, if you go to the 1860 website and go to the fan club websites you will get the real deal. Boarisch on.
