Well, DAP is in Punta del Este putting together his strategy to run for President in December 2009, according to La red's and Clarin's main River reporter.

It was evident he had planned this all along when becoming coach. His disastrous 2 years as DT didn't work for him the way he had planned, as the fans were disappointed, the club undersold their assets to private investors, and spent millions in the process. Yet, he did open his mouth quite a lot ...

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Passarella as the next president of River. He can't be any worse than Aguilar anyway.

Not related to Passarella, but to the elections:

En una entrevista con la agencia Télam, José María Aguilar dijo sentirse culpable cuando River no sale campeón y aseguró que no se presentará como candidato a presidente para las elecciones del próximo año.

Woot, woot! Not only are the elections next year, but that bitch won't be presenting himself as a candidate. :D You'd think no one would want to re-elect him, but it did happen in 2005, so I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.

Any updates on his campaign?

Supposedly el Beto Alonso also wants to present himself as a candidate. We are definitely going to see some interesting elections next year.
