why do so many footballers go for prostitutes? you've got both ronaldo's, deco, the entire czech republic team, etc. i dont mean to get off topic, it's just bizarre to me.

It isn't about getting sex. They surely can get that whenever they want it. The prostitutes are for that sure, but they are mainly used because there aren't strings attached (except for money). They don't expect (or want) a relationship and probably aren't trying to get pregnant. As a health professional, I would never condone this behavior but it is understandable when you realize these guys always have to watch people's motivations.

BTW, for me, Ronaldo was far superior to C.Ronaldo. He blew my mind at his peak. C. Ronaldo pails in comparision.

He's only 23, he has plenty of time to get better.

I should have typed pales. Anyway, C. Ronaldo will never develop the raw power Ronaldo had. C. Ronaldo is fast, great ball skills but he never will have that explosive power and strength that would take your breath away.

Certain individuals are guility of not giving Cristiano Ronaldo the credit he deserves.

That can be solved (or at least helped) with two things: win a Champions' League with Man Utd. (which he could do this season), and win a World Cup with Portugal (not going to happen). He's certainly the best in the world but he's a LONG way from even being close to some of the best of this era.

What other forward has managed to score 40 goals in a single season at club level and at the highest level? Not only that but to do so from a nominal wing position? Cristiano Ronaldo is rewriting the rules. Considering that he has not received the praise he merits. The need for people to ignore the above and consistently claim that he needs to do x, y or z before he gets his due recognition is laughable. You really need to question whether his nationality or club team factors into why this is the case. Had he been Brazilian or played in Spain then we both know that the situation would be completely different.

It may be laughable but that's what the world demands. 40 goals for a winger is phenomenal of course, but he needs to prove he can be consistent. We'll see how how does in the seasons to come.

The world is therefore ignorant. The only way he could get snubbed to a greater degree was if he were English...

Not necessarily. The world isn't completely sold on him yet. As I said, he needs to prove he can be consistent.

So he can blow away all of his peers in terms of offensive output, score against 19 out of 20 league sides and every team he has faced in the CL this season bar Barcelona but he still needs to do more and be more consistent for people to be sold on him? Give me a break. The ignorance needs to stop.

ONE season. Will he do the same next season? The season after that? He's having a phenomenal season but he will eventually return to Earth.

I'd take a 18 year old Ronaldo over a 23 year old Criatiano Ronaldo anyday too. This is not about statistics, it doesn't matter how many goals Cristiano Ronaldo scores by deflecting crosses -- that should've been easily cleared by defenders -- into the goal using his pubis in a season, the original Ronaldo was like a force of nature running through defenders and scoring at an awesome rate. It only takes one good look to see who's the better player, unless you're looking at wikipedia. And even if statistics come into play, it was Ronaldo Nazário who got almost a 1:1 goal:game ratio for SEVERAL seasons, it was him that scored 15 goals in 19 World Cup games and it was him that performed in SEVERAL clutch games, including a World Cup final.

I give C.Ronaldo credit for being the top 5 player in best form this season.
I still think that taked at top form Messi AND Ronaldinho AND Kaka are better players than C.Ronaldo. C.Ronaldo has the bad habit of disappearing when the team needs him most, i.e. when his team isn't playing a great game. Ibrahimovic has this same flaw. If C.Ronaldo builds some true character in the next few years, he'll be on a par with the other players I've mentioned. If not, then I'll just remind people that Kaka won a Champion's League by himself last year.

Brazilian Ronaldo is one of the greatest players in history. As I've said before, he's in good company with Maradona and Van Basten.
Perhaps C.Ronaldo will be one day too, but I doubt it. I'd like to see him do his tricks playing against a real defence, because I never have.

Winning a trophy doesn't mean you automatically surpass someone.

Ronaldo won Ballon d'or twice, has proven himself in 2 of the best leagues in the world and of course starred in 2 world cups, winning one of them.

Cristiano still has a long way to go.
