I agree, the whole team plays for C Ronaldo and it inflates his goals tally and he's got greedy, his as dropped over 60% this season compared to the one before, check the stats, i can't stand him, i never really liked him anyway.

I was trying to write it their way, i found out when i saw Pele doing an interview before Germany O6 with a zip up tracksuit top on saying Brasil, why did i spell it wrong?I just didnīt know if you ment Ronaldo or Ronaldinho, because both are better than him.

Agreed, watch Ronaldo when there's a very skillfull player on the other team i.e Kaka, Messi, Ronaldinho, even Robinho(although he is not as good as Ronaldo), it shows Ronaldo up for what he is, overrated, arrogant and selfish.
Even all the Portugal team plays for him for the the last 2 years since his performances in Germany.
What i hate is Nani see's Ronaldo selfishness and is copying it, i know he will learn lots of good things from him but that one just hurts everybody elses stats around them.

Try searching like this:
Ronaldo -Cristiano
It removes any matches that contain the string "Cristiano"

Now these comments are silly. Cristiano has a season better than 99% of players will ever have and is by some distance the best player in the world. Although I do think Totti should be in the running.....
He's not perfect, and has a tendency for his overall game to fade in big games, but he's done way too much for these comments...

Again, prove that CRonaldo was/is better than any of the other Ronaldos in their prime. Noone seems to be able to do it.

I agree totally.
I think many people are basing their opinions on the man, instead of the player. I find it hard to believe that when you look strictly at the ability of the player, and his importance to his teams, that you could say that he is not at least one of the 2 or 3 best players in the world.

Original Ronaldo by far. He is the best striker ever to play this game, too bad his attitude was not that perfect :D.
That said, I think that CR7 is at the moment the best player in the world :).

I think it is hard to compare the players. Ronaldo is coming to the end of his career and has achieved loads. C Ronaldo has also achieved plenty but is still very young. C Ronaldo could keep on developing or he could be blighted with injury. Nowadays people say Ronaldo is fat and unfit - which is true - but no-one yet knows what state C Ronaldo will be in when he is past 30.

Exactly... if C. Ronaldo had his career from here on out ruined by injuries then there would be no contest - the original Ronaldo would be the hands-down winner. However, if Ronaldo continues to improve and perform as he has over recent years then he will probably have had the more complete career by the time all is said and done for both of them.
I cannot see C. Ronaldo ever reaching older Ronaldo's form/ability/what-have-you of 1996-1998, though. For those few, short years he was perhaps on par with Maradonna & Pele.

Exactly what did Ronaldo (9) do more impressive than successive league titles, Champions League title and notching 42 goals in a season from the Midfield?
I'm speaking club wise, Portugal is no Brazil.

...and those PSV/Barca teams were no Man Utd 06-08. Ronaldo (9) was simply unplayable, and absolutely unstoppable against anything and everything he came up against in those timeframes. Whereas teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, Lyon, etc (organised, tough, rigid defences of high quality) can put 2-3 players on C. Ronaldo and keep him quiet for an entire game or the guts of it, and frustrate him in the process... you just couldn't do that with the original Ronaldo. He could run through and around 4, 5, 6 players before rounding the keeper and tucking the ball in the net on a consistent basis, regardless of the oppositon.
There are questions about who the best player in the world is currently, but during Ronaldo's prime (when there were arguably more world stars in the game) there was no argument. Ronaldo was the best, head and shoulders above the best, and that was that. Barring Maradonna, there had not been a footballer of that level for 20 odd years, and 10 years later, there still hasn't been. Even when Ronaldinho was at his absolute best, he was not on Ronaldo (9)'s level.
Who knows, I might be wrong and C. Ronaldo might reach those heights - but it is a seriously tall order.
