As SUprs are my second team i thought i would just see what actuall spurs fans are thinking at the moment. I personally think with the side that is there now, and a few new faces a seriuos threat for a top three finish is a possibility. Who would you sign and why to try adn get even closer. The youngsters look good, and blooding them in with some exeperience would be ideal - O'Hara and Huddleston in say two years will be ready but for now look at brining in some players. I would look at david james in goal, i would then look at barceloa - they are said to be having a massive clear out, now Ronaldinho is a bit of a fantasy move, and the wages would be an issue of course- but can you see him going Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal or Liverpool, they look set up already, as do AC Miland and Inter. You could be a big player there if he took some wage cuts, but more realistically Deco and Gudjohnsen. Then a little closer to home Darren Fletcher off man Utd and Stewart Downing. The staring lineup could be as follows :

James

Hutton King Woodgate Bale

Lennon Deco Jenas Downing

Berbatov Keane

That way you now have a sqaud as opose toa first team and a few injuries here and there wont have such an impact, think about it that is your staring lineup and the bench would consist of :

Malbranque, Bent, Gudjohnsen, Fletcher, Dawson, Chimbonda, Huddleston, O'Hara.

I think we the right signings to go with your already good foundations and quality manager you could be looking at a title challenge in two seasons time.

The price of aquiring their talents would not be that much -
Deco - 8 million, ( no more than 10)
Gudjonsen - 5 million (maybe less)
Downing - 10 million
Fletcher - 5 - 7 million
James - 2 million

a grand total of about 30 million - probably much less unless you want to get roanldinho for 30 million plus .

We need a defensive midfielder. If we sign Deco, we will need Jenas to become the holding midfielder.

If Fletcher were to be signed, he would be far better in the holding midfield role than Jenas would be. Jenas can go play in the Championship where he can play against players of the same skill level.

Laughable rubbish. Fletcher is not in the same class as Jenas.

looks like 'new faces' gets the nod.

40m is a lot of money. it's admittedly exciting, but i can't say that i'm entirely comfortable with the way we're spending. at any rate, it appears we will be seeing some changes.

Ugh, as if the press need any more ammunition. Can't wait to see the rumors now.

At least the ammunition is based on success, rather than failure. So we've got that going for us!

The rumors are going to fly, but the Berbatov rumors have already begun to subside a bit; they will always be there, however. I think we'll see more talk about players who may have been starting, but who may not fully have what it takes to move to the next level and who might need to be moved out if we're to bring in major upgrades (e.g. Dawson, Lee).

I remember watching him play once and was pretty impressed by him. Is he the Cameroon number 1?

I think deco is over the hill, do not think he would add much. Downing or Fletcher don't do anything for me really. Maybe the David Silva romurs will come around again.

Kameni is a excellent keeper with lightning reflexes and would without doubt be a major upgrade from your current keepers. He rarely commits mistakes and one hell of a shot-stopper. I have been wondering for years why a keeper with his talent wasn't snatched up by a major club.

Goal.com is saying that Ramos might be going after these players:
http://goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=599815

In Goal — Idriss Carlos Kameni | Espanyol | GK | Cameroon | 24 years old
- A option comes from Spain — or Cameroon, actually — in Espanyol's Carlos Kameni. 13 years James' junior and highly rated as one of the best goalkeepers in the Spanish league, he is reportedly available at a much lower price of just £4.5 million.

At The Back — Ezequiel Garay | Racing | DC | Argentinian | 21 years old
- Ezequiel Garay is a reported target for Ramos. Valued at £13.5 million, he would be the most expensive of the signings made so far, but at just 21 years of age, he has several years ahead of him and is already showing incredible maturity at the back for his club Racing Santander, who he has led to overachieve this season, as they are outside contenders for a top six finish. There are rumours the player has reached an agreement with Barcelona, but with no official transfer having been announced by either side, the door may remain open for Ramos.

In Midfield — David Albelda | DM | Spanish | 30 years old
- At 30, Albelda's best years are perhaps past him, but he could play an important role for Spurs nevertheless, with his big game experience being a key factor.

On The Wing — Diego Capel | Sevilla | WINGER | Spanish | 20 years old
- The winger possesses devastating pace and tremendous crossing ability and, at such a tender age, has the potential to develop into a world star in a position that is truly at a premium in modern football: a left-footed left winger.

Up Front — Diego Milito | Zaragoza | STRIKER | Argentinian | 28 years old
- The Argentine hit-man has been incredibly prolific for the club during the good times and the bad — the bad being this season, as Zaragoza are underachieving in mid-table and struggling to get any momentum goin.

Diego is a complete forward, compared by many to have similar attributes to countryman Gabriel Batistuta and Italy's Luca Toni. Milito is powerful, good dribbler and with a keen eye for goal, and is regarded as one of the finest headers of the ball in the modern game.

That's too funny... he was my permanent fix in the summer of 2008 in my Football Manager game.

I can't say that I'd be too happy with him though, with our English speaking, British Isles defense I can't see an African keeper with probably only knowledge of SPanish and French. I just don't feel like he would fit in too well and be able to command the defense.

Haha it s ok,i think he can speak English,we will put Kaboul next to Woodgate and he can translate for Hutton and Bale...

The guys my fellow madridista (hopefully a fellow spur 2)Anonymouse
talked about had been said to be interesting Ramos but are probably just rumors.

In case of truth they would all be great but garay capel and milito specially the first and the last would be very expensive.
As milito also interests Man city.

Garay I just don't see fitting into our squad... we tend to only have experienced foreigners and our wonderkids come up through the THFC academy.

Conceded. I guess I mean we just usually get our youth that turn out to do well from English clubs. Look recently at Boateng, Taarabt, Kaboul - none of which have made a very strong impact whatsoever.

First two are not given enough time,Taarabt any time.
Kaboul was thrown into a bad defense, come on he had Zokora as his fellow CB,i thought he preformed well enough than made a couple mistakes and was taken off(i think for Ramos to not make him loose to much confidence)

Plus Kaboul is a freaking beast and Boateng has shown that he has game.
What i m trying to say these guys have talent and Ramos knows how to develop players so chin up.

I'd like to see some of our brighter reserve players get a shot in the near future, like Danny Rose and Thomas Pekhart.
