New Logo

Here's a first draft of a new logo.
The complaint was that the first logo wasn't
in high enough resolution when blown up, so i
decided to start from scratch.
It's basically the same design, but I used some filters
and made it look a little more detailed and clearer.
If you have any ideas on how to change it, let me know.

I think it looks fantastic. Should there be something like a soccer ball on the logo, or something soccer related? Any thoughts?

Maybe a little black and white soccer ball under the banner.But im not sure I think it might be fine the way it is. Can we get one to see what it would look like?

Really? I like it with the blue ribbon,too much orange might make it look corny.

i think there's a bit too much detail, mainly in the tower with all the stonework, joints, cables, etc. it's such an iconic, instantly-recognizable silhouette, and i think it should be emphasized as such. you can still do some shadows/contrast with the blue versus black, and still retain the same feel. sometimes less is more.

the text on the banner needs to be bigger/bolder/more legible. when the logo is reduced in size, you may not be able to read the motto and established date.

also, is this a vector image? if not, i highly recommend you create is as one. there would be no loss of resolution regardless of the size, your scaling options would be limitless, and i've found many swag manufacturers (t-shirts, stickers, magnets, etc) prefer to use vector images.

I know it's super detailed, but that was kinda the point.
It's in a half tone pattern and is sort of supposed to be really
sharp and contrasting.
I knew it would be wierd for some people, but It's only an idea...
It's not the new offical logo yet.
Secondly, I can't make a vector image because I don't have Adobe Ilustrator.
If someone has a copy of it for preferbably Mac, PC if not...and feels like letting me download it...i could come up with much better crap than I am now. And Dillon's right...if I have a vector based program, these images would be super sharp no matter what the size.

I used 1625 on the left because I couldn't figure out what else to put.
The Two most important dates in New York history.
The founding of the City,
and the founding of the Borough boys:D

not baddd. i was also thinking maybe the coca-cola logo (i know kind of cheesy) but it would say Boro-Boys. it might look sweet.
