Continue here......

Okay, I will. Horrible display from pretty much everyone involved. No ifs ands or buts, we got stomped. Hopefully, they'll shake it off by Wednesday.

Yep, still shit. That is the first time in a long, long time I've sat and watched a match in front of the telly and literally been furious.

How lucky am I? I ordered it on PPV...came back home at it wasn't working. Checked the scoreline...and got a refund. I'm sure Judy, Tel and Rick would like a refund too.

Sounds like it was crap all around.

Movin' on....

Positives of the game:

We didn't lose to Barnsley!

And while many people were saying that this game would give the winning team the edge in the league game in April, I think the oppisite will happen. If we had won, Man U would not want to be beaten twice by us at their place. But I think we'll go up there in April and not want to get embarressed again.

No Eboue for awhile...

Less fixture congestion!

I'm going to expose him here. Rick didn't go. He chose the Smashing Pumpkins over Arsenal. Seems this was the CORRECT choice :p

I am still very, very saddened by Ade diving. I am going to pray for his soul :(

It was a tough loss to swallow at the pub.... Luckily they only charged $5 for cover... ManU had too much to sing about today it was awful... Let's hope we can put out on the pitch our competitive backline and not that crap that was out today..

It's odd, I watched on PPV, but after reading your post it occurred to me that I never saw the confirmation screen where it asks you to confirm that you want to order the event. Just took a look at my account on dishnetwork.com and I can't find anyplace where it shows the order. Maybe somehow I didn't get charged, but it's probably just not posted yet. The players should pass the hat to pay us for watching that crap.

This just shapes up for a hellafied match in April. Plain and simple today Arsenal got their teeth kicked in. Nothing else to add. Let's hope they get in fighting mode for Wednesday's game.

Fck sake, MOTD lick Man United's arse so much. "Ohmygod, Anderson looked the other way when he played a pass!!! He's so cool!!" Not like Rosicky and Hleb were pulling that trick in September. FCK OFF.

Forgot to add that Nani made "the list" for that seal trick. I was hoping Flamini took his legs off with that two footed tackle  I didn't like Anderson before, but that Jheri-curled cvnt has shot in ahead of him now. Twat.

Skizz, why do you think that Ade dove? He may have gone down a little theatrically, but it must have been tough to move with Fletcher standing on his foot.

"Dove". Love that word. It's so much better than "dived" :D

Urm I dunno, maybe he didn't "dive" per se but the way he fell to the floor in no way reflected the challenge that was made on him. There's a term for it nowadays...can't think what phrase was made for it. It will come to me no doubt.

It is difficult to call, but it depends on what diving itself is - whether it's a matter of going over when there is no contact, or accentuating the contact there is in order to give a penalty. But then again that happens 90% of the time anyway when a player can carry on running after stumbling but chooses to go down...it's a matter of degree of accentuation really.

Perhaps diving is a bit over the top, until I saw it just now on MOTD I did think it was a dive but in hindsight perhaps it was just exaggerating the contact a little too much. I don't think it was a pen either way.

God, it seems I've opened a can of worms!! :(

I just give our players the benefit of the doubt when there is clear contact. I thought that carding him was ridiculous.

Oh, and by the way, according to Webster's, "dove" is an accepted past tense. :p

I guess that's about the only positive to take from this match. I am tired of hearing people say we didn't want this game. I wanted it. Apparently a ton of people in Atlanta wanted b/c the bar was packed with Gooners. And we got our teeth kicked in. I think every Arse fan will agree -- we want hardware. I'll take any kind we can get. I realize it was tough task: United at home, playing with a bunch of youngsters, but these are all just excuses.

As far as a player by player analysis:

Lehman (6) -- Didn't see anything wrong with him today, honestly. Perhaps he could have done better on Nani's goal, but the others were inside of 6 yards. No complaints here.

Toure (5) -- I have come to expect a lot more from him. I thought he was wrong-footed several times and he didn't play with nearly the kind of control that has seen him rise to one of the best Sweepers in the Prem.

Gallas (5) -- He was bit too quiet for me. His marking on Fletcher's first goal was poor too. His kicking of Nani didn't really upset me all that much b/c I know he was retaliating for that twat's 40 yard juggling show. Frankly, Hoyte should have split him in half when he had the chance and he didn't.

Hoyte (3) -- Maybe a 3 is too kind. He was awful. Out of position. Constantly off balance. Nani owned him today. He never even tried to get in Nani's head. He gave him acres of space on the assist to Fletcher. This is a kid that is really running out of opps. Frankly, I don't know how he'll ever see the field over Sagna. Ever. Sell him.

Traore (3) -- Yes, he's young. But, if he wants to EVER challenge Clichy for this position, this is not the best tryout. He was getting butchered by Ji-Sung Park. The same Park that never plays for Manure's regulars. He also got completely roasted on Nani's goal. First he held him onsides because he wasn't level with Toure, then he waited to run with him. Perhaps he got a good look at Nani's arse when he shot the ball? I want him to be better, but I haven't seen it in him, quite honestly. And this isn't an assessment based on this game, either.

Cesc (4) -- Off game. He really looked sick. Not making excuses, but he obviously wasn't himself. And having Bert next to him probably wanted to make him puke even more.

Bert (3) -- Awful. I mean, it's really sad watching him now. Honestly, has he lost two steps? He clatters into players constantly. His first touch is abysmal and his passing is brutal. Beyond that, he looked great. Never thought I'd miss Flamini so much when Bert plays.

Hleb (5) -- Non-existent really. I don't think it was a lack of not working hard but I just didn't think he touched the ball enough. If Cesc is our engine, then Hleb has to be the wheels (or some other car analogy). Our offense purrs when Hleb is on. And he wasn't on today. But I also think he needs more service and it just wasn't there. I bet his touches were halved today, compared to other matches.

Eboue (3) -- I am tired of his antics. If you read www.arseblog.com you'll see what I mean. Eboue dives too much and then does something so utterly stupid (like today) and then has the audacity to throw his hands up in the air. When it happened, I turned to a friend and said, "That's a red card." Sure enough. He doesn't do anything for us and frankly, gives us a blackeye at times. Please Glass Joe... err.... Rosicky, get healthy. Pretty please.

Bendtner (4) -- Yeah, he won some headers, but overall I thought his workrate sucked. I don't know if he feels he has to have perfect service, but it is getting aggravating. On one hand, you have a tireless worker like Ade -- who never complains. Always gives you 100% even when his touch is rubbish. Then you have Bendtner who knows he's good and sort of feeds off his own ego. I am not sold on him at all. I know he's talented, but he's my fourth choice forward, honestly.

Eduardo (5.5) -- I liked him today. I thought he was one of the few players (Hleb included) who actually took people on. He also tracked back a ton and seemed to generally work really hard. If he had Clichy making some of this runs today I think he would have made Dudu look al lot better. He shouldn't have his head down too much after today.

Anyway, what's done is done. We have to move on and we did a good job of it after the Spurs thumping so I don't see why we can't do it again. A home match against a storied club like Milan. A dead person could get up for this one. Lets hope the boys come out with a more spirited attitude on Wednesday.

Completely agree with your ratings. Eboue sucked major balls today, that foul looked like the foul from a guy who just quit and was raring to get into the showes, the earlier the better. Traore was rubbish as was Hoyte. Not to excuse Gallas and Toure but when youv'e got your left back and right back along with your central mid leaving you out to dry you're going to look like shiite. Point is they got their head kicked in and that's that. Let's wait for Wednesday.

I never would have thought before today that the gulf between our 1st choice pair of Clichy and Sagna and our second choice fullbacks would be so large.
