Des McKeown wrote the great book Don't Give Up the Day Job chronicling a season in his life as a part-time footballer who also worked for Scotland's largest stationary company (which left one columnist to write "During the week, McKeown is a stationary salesman for Scotland's main paper concern. On saturday last, he was a stationary left back for Partick Thistle...")
Anyway, last I heard he was playing for Stenhousemuir, but in a pre-season friendly right before the start of last season against non-league Barrow, he sustained a double fracture in one of his legs. Hard for a 32, 33 year old guy to come back from that one.
So, did he come back? Is he trying for one more season, or did he hang it up?
Thanks if you can help.
