I've recently become a big fan of Oliver Kahn. Could someone let me know about some of the more extreme incidents he's been involved in? Has he ever considered playing for a club outside of Germany?

Maybe two years ago in a Champions League game I saw him knocked unconcious in a wicked collision. He came to with the help of the trainers and stayed on the field. Made some brilliant saves afterward.

Some freakie things jump to mind.

When he was unhappy with his defense, he grabbed one of his teammates -- Andreas Herzog, a more easy-going type of player -- and almost hurled him on the grass.

In Dortmund he stormed out of his goal and caught a ball to stop the counter-attack. His right leg was stretched out. If he had hit the attacker, a liver would had to be transplanted.

Another time against Dortmund, he wanted to get intimate with Heiko Herrlich, at least it looked like that.


But the weirdest occurence I recall is, when Bayern were trailing in Rostock by one, Kahn decided to do some offense. Ball came high in Kahn's direction, he accelerated, jumped and fisted the ball in, using both hands. He got his second booking for it. The Rostock incident has been the last serious one afaik. He is more self-controlled these days

in a bundesligamatch he was also knocked out for some minutes. and sammy kuffour made a mouth to mouth reanimation.
after that he played a good game i think.

I saw that match last season on FSW. I could not believe he actually punch the ball into the net. That to me was bizarre.

Kahn was again hit by a coin thrown by Partizan Belgrade supporters in the warm-up before today's Champions League qualifier. First he refused to play, but the officials could come him down and now he's on the pitch. Game started seconds ago.
