I like watching the NBA. I was a big fan until lately for no particular reason. I guess I like watching cause I like playing the game. I joined a summer league that just ended. Kept me really busy and made me a better player.

Seriously though.........

I like playing and doing almost anything but I don't follow the NBA anymore. It isn't basketball the way basketball should be played. Also, the league is built around stars that can get away with just about anything.

I've gone to baseball games, soccer games, football games, hockey, car racing, and I've enjoyed it all.

Baseball and football were probably my favorite sports growing up.

if I'm bored, I'll watch pretty much anything, as for mainstream spectator sports I actually follow, it's pretty much confined to teams where I grew up, in Dallas. I've tried to wean myself off the Cowboys, and was really close to adopting the Bears when I lived in Chicago, but for some reason the Boys seem to have a spell on me. I did adopt the White Sox as my second MLB team, behind the Texas Rangers. Besides them, there's the Mavericks in basketball, and the Horns in college football, and to a *much* lesser extent (at least this year), the Dallas Burn.

Boxing is great, I grew up watching that with my dad and grandfather. If I'm around when it's on I'll make a point to catch Solo Boxeo, that's usually pretty entertaining. I used to wrestle, so I follow NCAA wrestling pretty closely. It's not really a "sport" but I also watch the other kind of wrestling, though it's sucked for quite some time here lately.

College football and basketball in the United States have wonderful passion and atmosphere.

Tennis players are incredible athletes and the pace of the game is blistering. Great to watch in person.

I followed Tour de France on TV this year and it is one great soap opera.

The Olympic Games I enjoy and have attended (Atlanta, Sydney and Salt Lake) because, like the World Cup in soccer, the event involves the whole world.

I retain a sentimental attachment to baseball (please don't flame me!) because that was the game my father played and taught me.

NFL, NBA (especially the mind-numbing smothering style that has emerged in recent years), WNBA and NHL seem to me to be canned and sterile. Not much fun (although hockey players are tremendously skilled).

Not all all, I too have a deep love for the game itself. Not so much the major leagues anymore, but the game itself because of my father. I think of baseball and I think of my father and the wonderful childhood he gave me.

That was also the game my father played and taught me.

From my personal experiences, it seemed that the fathers who taught their boys baseball and taught them the love of the game had better father-son relationships than those other fathers who taught thier sons other games.

I consider boxing to be a beautiful sport. Not really a game like you said though, rdl. Since you really can't "play" boxing.

To those of you who like boxing, who are your favorite fighters?

Mine would be Oscar De La Hoya and Erik Morales. Salvador Sanchez is one of my favorites of all time. Too bad he died really young, what a tragedy.
