BPL in the US in 2011

I know this topic is up on the premiership thread, but i just wanted to get everyone's take on the matter. I think big picture wise it would hurt our club and the other clubs, but selfishly I wouldn't mind seeing the Reds in a competitive match here in the states :D. Maybe a bigsoccer reunion of Reds fans? I saw on skysports today of the possible cities listed and they had Miami on the list. As much as I love to see them here and all the Reds fans down here, I don't think we have best stadium to house the teams and fans.

So what venues would you propose our beloved Reds to play at and obviously what do you think about them coming over?

Send them over here to play against the US National team like Chelsea has done. We have American owners! Why can't this happen!

As for the venue, it doesn't really matter. My guess is we'll see them in Houston.

Liverpool is sending a team to play in the Dallas Cup next month- it's a U19 tournament- so at least I'll get to see some Reds in the area very soon.

As much as I like the idea of having Liverpool over here so I can watch them but this show how greedy the Premiership has become because this is a major cash grab.

I heard a rumor of Liverpool playing some friendlies in North America this summer has anyone else heard anything?

The rumor is they are playing Juventus in Montreal and play in th MLS All-Star's in Toronto.

I'd rather not see this. As much as I want to be able to see Premiership matches, or even just to see the sport grow here in America and Australia for example, this will have a way to big of an effect on the season. Titles or relegation may well be decided by this decision for one little tiny extra game. Funny how at the interviews afterwards, no one seemed to mention this, or that it breaks a traditional schedule, or that it will be an advantage/disadvantage for certain teams, or that people already have complaints of too many games per season.

No no, none of that is important. What's important is that the chairman and owners, who have net worths in the millions, make a little extra coin from lucrative television deals and an untapped market at the expense of tradition and players.

I'd be happy with just some pre-season friendlies as well- I was actually a bit shocked to see that they were going to be proper season games- tbh- i don't see it happening.

Arsenal could draw Derby County, we could draw Villa or Spurs . . . it could cost us (or someone) a CL place and maybe even the title

i would of course love to see liverpool play in my backyard, and maybe even at the expense of the integrity of the game if we got a shit side to play against and man u and arsenal had to play stiffer competition. however, how much would it suck if liverpool played a strong side in hong kong while we got the opportunity to see reading and sunderland? not worth it, i'd rather just save up the coin to see them play at anfield

I agree with someone above, I would happy with a pre-season friendly tour. I do want to see them play, so my best bet is if they come to Canada or Chicago. I could make it to Colorado too, but anywhere way out East, West, or down south is too much for me.

I don't think they should bring regular season games over here. They are too important, and home and away are very important in games. Disappointing that they are just trying to make more money really.

I don't mind EPL in the league cup because it gives LFC a chance to debut the reserves against lower div teams with a few regulars in the squad. There is nothing else like this in English footie and I think Rafa would shit a brick if it's taken away.
