That is true...unless some of you are involved with the clubs or know some agents...there is no way that you know how much a transfer fee was/is. Torres' transfer was more like 22.5 million but again with the add-ons the fee rises.

It all depends on how you add up transfer costs. Some people include the agents fees, some the admin fees, the medical costs, the singing on fees, the value of any player going the other way etc.

When Man Utd signed Rooney the deal was £10m after one season, £10m after the next, and the rest was made up of signing on fees, success clauses and an agents fee. Over all it comes to £28m I think, but so far we've only paid £22m roughly although more success will cost. But then, we're the only club in the league that make our transfers 100% transparent and announce every cost. No one else does this.

If you include Torres' signing on fee, agent fee, medical assessment cost, etc it probably comes to about £26m which is a more accurate cost of what the player actually costs the club, and not just a relection of how much monjey is being paid directly to Athletico Madrid for signing the player.
