I was wondering if some people could tell me which clubs in the Premiership sell tickets more often to the general public. Some clubs such as Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham for example make one buy a membership even if you are only going for one match. Others such as Fulham, Portsmouth sell tickets over the internet. Anyway, I am trying to get together a trip for football viewing purposes to England and am looking for other opinions, experiences, etc....
I assume that tickets to clubs like Nottingham Forrest, Wolverhampton etc would not require memberships?

I went to the Fulham/Blackburn game Nov 25, 07. I just bought my tickets online. I was 3rd row from the field.
It was pretty much impossible to get tickets to the top 4 in the EPL.
Check the teams websites... From what ive come to figure out, its a lot easier to get tickets to a lower table team than a higher table team :) lol

I had original had the grand plan for a Northern trip to see Liverpool, ManU and maybe Aston Villa, Everton or Newcastle. But after looking into it, I have completely changed my mind. Now we are definitely looking at mid level teams. Are clubs like Tottenham so popular that they don't have any extra tickets to sell?

Probably during next season in January. I realize that tickets will not be on sale until less than a month before the matches. So I will have to buy plane tickets before I even get the match tickets. But obviously I'd like to avoid buying a membership to several different teams just for one match. Even Reading charges 2 pounds to become a member!

Im heading to london next week and the prices i've been quoted on some sites for tickets to arsenal v blackburn seem enormous.
Anyone got any idea how easy/difficult it will be to buy tickets outside the ground on the night??

Anyone got any idea how easy/difficult it will be to buy tickets outside the ground on the night?? Not all that easy, but not all that difficult. I've bought tix on gamedays at Stamford Bridge and other grounds but you basically have to go to the visitor's stand and look for guys that are just milling around, make some eye contact and check for tickets in his hand, odds are he's trying to unload them. It's not sanctioned by the clubs but you can find tickets. It's probably very akin to doing a drug deal, although I'm not one of of those types. However, communicating price and a feature/benefit analysis with a scouser can be daunting. Yep, I've done that.

try contacting the ticketing office, they MIGHT be able to help. But when i was searching for my tickets, it was nearly impossible to get tickets to the ANY of the Big 4 teams. And... 2 of them are playing each other for that game... good luck man

I went to the Liverpool - Tottenham game at Anfield in September of 2006. I bought the tickets before the season started directly from the team. The tickets we bought were the hospitality tickets, like Club Level tickets in the US. They were more expensive than regular tickets. We had access to the Reds Bar before and after the game. We were only 2 rows back from the field. Each of the tickets were 80 pounds. A little pricey, but I was able to buy them in June or July and didn't have to wait and hope there were still tickets available when they went on sale to the public. Season ticket holders get first shot. You pay a little more, but it may be a way of getting tickets.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I did not have to pay for a Membership. There was a shipping charge, but I had them shipped to my friends place in London.
