d9, how it work in canadialand then?

we run on a basketball court from end to end and the machine beeps, and tells you what number you are at, and if you miss the beep you are done, its difficult to explain over the internet

Hmm sounds the same, I guess it just tells you the total number of shuttles or the equated VO2 max, there are online calculators that tell me my L16 today gives me a VO2 of 68ml/kg/min, which according to www.brianmac.co.uk/beep.htm makes me a "superior" athlete (as ever the normative scores for these are LOW so that anyone with a lick of fitness can feel like a stud!)
Gotta improve my 2.2 levels in order to be considered an endurance athlete...

Can you tell it's saturday night and im home "doing" college work!!!!

quick few laps of facebook now then...

I remember at school we used to have to do the Bleep test in PE when it was raining. And when i did A-Level PE, the informed us that we were running a shorter distance in the sports hall than we were meant too so they laid it out all properly in the gym and it was evil.

The worse would have to be the sit up bleep test though. We had one lad in our group though who used to finish the bleep test and the sit up bleep test while we were all dying in the corner!!

yea they edited wiki but it did have some pretty awesome claims of prowess pertaining to the bleeptest, like the guy that maxed one after a marathon then cycled 50k....

Yea thats typical NHS, I bet a competent BUPA nurse could do all apps work in one shift, she just slacks off and claims double the money!!! It's people like her milking the system that means public health care is in the state it is, so much for her hypocritical oaf.... ;):D

Phil, what kind of Dr works at costco? 8 hr shifts, currently I work a 15hr/week part-time job, a 30hr/week job and am "acting up" whilst my boss is being replaced and fulfilling ALL her duties, a job allocated 38hrs/week. So technically im doing 83hrs/week however due to employment law have BS am not allowed to work more than 60, so not only do I gotta do 2 peoples work i gotta do it in less time...Not to get too deep into who gets paid what, but im doing over £70ks worth of job for SUBSTANTIALLY less, in less time and with less support...

Rant over(ish)

Incidentally, for us brits, anyone on BUPA? Im offered a hefty 55% discount thru my employer, dunno I technically agree with private health but having heard some bad things of late about NHS (my experiences have always been fine mind you, SO FAR), I may sell-out and buy in. Thoughts?

private healthcare is infinitely better than nhs because of the massive amounts of money involved

i have nothing but admiration for people like apps who work ridiculous hours, cleaning up after ungrateful cnuts for what is, pay in peanuts for the work involved!

however, the general treatment and aftercare private is amazing

my nan had her hip replaced privately and it went smooth as shit, brilliant care/meals/help after

however, on the nhs she had her knee done, the waiting list was massive so she waited for 6 or 9 months, the operation went ok i think but she wasnt treated properly after, her leg is now red and swollen and blistering, the nurse diddnt even dress the leg properly

apps, i dont know intricately, but how poorly funded is the nhs generally? when u hear that the gov takes 66p of tax from every litre of fuel sold and u hear shell made 12 billion last year, u start to wonder where the money is going, or is nhs pure lottery funding?

Well im working in A+E at the moment. And i do know that if patient 'breaches' and in the dept for 4+ hours then the hospital gets charged £1,000 and sometimes there isn't anything you can do about it because there are no beds for them to go into.

If you can get private healthcare at a discount Case, do it. That's my advice.

Well, I don't have a job, but I have been studying Architecture for the last month, and will be doing so for the next 6 years...

I have a 9 to 5 day, and have taken up drinking coffee as a hobby. Our day officially ends at 5pm, but I am working in the studios until about 11pm most nights.

Fridays are amazing though - the day finishes at 1pm, and then it's time to get smashed!

ahhh sanchy are youthful alchy!
what apps said about the hosp getting fined is bananas, as if the hosp is deliberately keeping patients in waiting rooms! Most likely the long waits are due to lack of funds so taking more money away is somewhat of a nonsensical solution, like getting caught cheating and wifey makes u sleep with all her mates s punishment....(I just have to translate these things into relevant scenarios that bigg can relate to from his life;))
Im quite patriotic and proud, and pretty sure taking private healthcare would make me a hypocrit, but then Id be a hypocrit with a private room sky tv on a plasma screen and hot nurses sponge bathing me, or eachother if I so ask!!!

Besides, if I stay NHS then I run the risk off coming across apps, then b4 u know it im signed up for a full rectal exam, eyeball scraping and exploratory surgery when I went in with just a sprained ankle.....infact she's prolly put me down as an organ donor even though I was still alive...

we're just messin docP, luv u rookies just gettin ur feet wet in the workin world! 45 hours is alor for a part-time job mind....

r&w, what sort of courses did you need to take in highschool? Also, what marks did you need to get in? I'm going into architecture after high school, but I really don't know what I need to get there. BTW, what sort of art skills do you need. aka, is it okay if I'm artistically challenged?

I suppose the regulations and rules are different for different continents, but I'll give you a quick low-down nonetheless.

Our entry was based on an equal combination of our end of year exam marks and a large specialised portfolio that we needed to compile. Drawing skill were needed for that, but there were other components in the portfolio that did not need such skill.

I needed either Maths or Science. Acceptions for doing neither of there subjects were made if you portfolio was rediculously good. Art or design is not needed. That was it really. There are a many people in the degree that are not very good artists, but you get so much drawing practice that your ability dramatically increses within the first few months.

The University that I am attending only lets in 65 1st year Architecture students each year, and they are one of only six Universities in the country that offer an Architectural degree, so competition for places were heavy, especially with affirmitive action after Apertheid. I made it in by the skin of my teeth!

Any other questions?
