And what did you think?

I'm curious to know your thoughts/impressions.

I went there last summer. It's a good Hall of Fame. While soccer's my favorite sport, Hockey still has my favorite Hall of Fame, with Baseball and Soccer tied for second, slightly ahead of the Bowling Hall of Fame in St. Louis.

Anyway, if you're a fan, it's a good place to visit. You'll likely learn something about the history of the sport in the US, though I'd like to see more detailed stuff about the old days, but it's still pretty cool.

Oh, and there's a Colorado Caribou jersey on display, for those who don't belief us when we tell you it's the worst jersey ever.

You can also visit it online, which isn't the same thign, but still...

The trophy room in the HHOF is breathtaking.

I was there for my brithday in July. That was place un-Freakin-believable. Just a real nice place to visit, and the sweet mini indoor-soccer field was just awesome. And then there were the games that were FREE, that were cool as well. We're planning on making an annual pilgrimage to the Hall.

I live about two miles from the Soccer Hall and it is pretty nice. I'm not just saying that because I live here. It's really good for kids as it has a lot of interactive games and a small 2v2 area with the newest artificial turf that actually feels pretty good.

The actual museum part is complete, but the entire facitlity is still a work in progress. They are working on building a stadium, two full-size indoor fields, dormitory facilities, etc. All this takes money, which they are slowly raising. So, every visit counts towards a better Soccer Hall.

Finally, you shold keep your eye on their website as inductions are done every October. It's a great time to see some players and a beautiful time in Upstate New York.

They had a big ad in the most recent Soccer America advertising the upcoming October inductions, emphasizing the NASL contingent entering the hall and how all NASL fans would have a great time.

Wish I lived closer!!

I know that the Hall has a cooperative marketing agreement with Soccer America...they help support each other essentially.

I know they had to push some of the weekend back because of the WWC final ends up being the same weekend.

I went to the Hall of Fame in '93 and all I got was this lousy, stickin University of Evansville soccer t-shirt. Had a great time though and I'd like to visit again sometime soon.

The NASL Reunion at the Hall of Fame in Oneonta will be October 24-26. Eight players are going to be inducted into the Hall. I am making the hilight package about those players that will be shown at the induction ceremony, so I am excited about that. The eight players are:

CARLOS ALBERTO
ALAN WILLEY
BRUCE WILSON
BOB LENARDUZZI
ARNIE MAUSSER
PAUL CHILD
KARL-HEINZ GRANITZA

Man, if I wanted to subject my wife to the unpleasant vision of me reliving the favorite part of my childhood, I'd drag her to the induction.

Wonder if I can get my 75 year old mother to climb up to the attic to dig out my autographed pictures of Mausser and Granitza?

Wonder if Karl-Heinz is going to show up, since the rumors in Chicago are he owes a lot of people a lot of money based from failed business ventures.

FWIW, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds are honoring their former assistant coach Paul Child at halftime of their match this sunday.

I went in 1999, not long after they had moved to the new place. I was duly amazed and pleased, but I'd like to go again to see if they had more stuff out, and also some time when Colin Jose is there, so I could look in the archives. I talked to him on the phone once, and he's a super guy.

That's a big improvement over the time Pele was inducted -- Pele didn't show up.
