Was there any violence reported after the Munich derby?
Yes. Evidently a young German youth pushed some old French fart who fell rather henously to the ground and needed to be attended to by paramedics. It caused quite a stir but the youth was punished and the old French fart is enjoying his Pernod sitting on his veranda today no worse for wear. That should show the youth of Germany not to mess with the French.

That wasn't the PK call was it?

if so, OH MY GOD!

Ribery - I hope someone gives him a reason to hit the ground next time.

Thorandt did...and then he got red carded.

A real reason, not an acting job. Plus it was a bad acting job at that.

I am talking about what happened after the goal.

Does a Frenchman EVER need a reason to surrender at the first sign of aggression? I am surprised that the citizen of Paris we not in the streets waving Bavarian flags waiting for the onslaught of Bavarian famers heading that way on their holiday.

Well, there is one important thing that I have learned this round: one of the many differences between VfB and Bayern.

If VfB play like crap at home to inferior opposition, they let in a goal in the last minute and crash out.
If Bayern play like crap at home to inferior opposition, they cheat and whine and get the always-faithful referee to help them out, score a goal in the last minute and go through.

Never realized it was this simple ;)

Hats off to 1860 though, you gave them a good fight and made the match much closer than I would've expected. Congratulations to all the sides still in.

I didn't see that. Was it the same video?

I didn't check the video, but it was at 120+4, 2 minutes after the penalty kick.

I think one of the Mods should make a sticky for this to show the world what a fraud FC Bayern really is. The ref. should have shown Ribery a YC, IMHO.

Well, to me Ribéry's action show what's wrong with the game, it's not really only a Bayern thing.
A lot of players did similar and worse stuff this season without being punished for it (Naldo, Huszti, Jarolim...) and I hate it.

Too true, a lot of players do it and I hate it as well. I think anyone caught play acting or diving should get a YC immediately. After the last WC this is something FIFA ought to make a priority. So many players are doing this sort of thing and it is making a mockery out of the game we love.

Then you better be ready to give a yellow for the real fouls as well.

Reffing is hard. Reffing at a very high level is extremely hard. Its probably time for video reffing or a 2nd ref.

how many times have you seen the attacking team penalized on a corner kick? How many times have you seen the defending team? yeah, bull crap. You know fouls are happening on both sides, so call a few PK's to keep them honest.

Reckless fouls = cautions

violent fouls = send offs

simulation = caution

Cheaters need to be exposed - if the DFB has any gigglies they would suspend Ribery for 3 matches. Getting a player sent off for that dive should be punished accordingly.

But one of the mods IS a Bayern fan...or at least partial Bayern sympathizer. Yet DF is coming around to being a closet 60 fan I must admit. TOLH will make this a sticky I am sure.:D

Yeah, have to agree on the YC for Flopery....that was B movie acting at its worst.

Naw...its easy. Hey, maybe I can get assigned to one of your team's games? :D I'd be happy to give your guys a few PKs, then we can go out drinking afterwards.:D You take State 1's at your level right? Or do you need Nats to handle your games?

Nice conclusion except Bayern didn't play like crap. They dominated for 120 minutes with dozens of chances. They just couldn't put them away. In fact, 1860 was lucky to even get extra time since the ref didn't call a valid penalty in the second half.

Which might have something to do with the fact that Lucio fell like he wanted Ribery's Oscar........

To be fair to Lucio, he was hit in eye and that probably justifies his reaction, but I think it was his reaction that cost him the call.

Missing one call doesn't justify giving a bogus one, I don't care if the team is mine, yours, or any other cheating sons of bitches.

BTW, what normally happens when a team has dozens of chances and they just can't put any away???

I'm not saying one call cancels out one that was missed but lets be objective here rather than crucify Bayern endlessly for a mistake made by a below average ref. Plus, what can happen when a defender makes a clumsy tackle near the box towards the end of the match?
