Wow, Franchino was only given a 50/50 chance of coming back from his injury! I guess the fact that he's made it this far means that the ankle is doing okay.

FWIW, league MVP Emilio is in the same situation.
This could very well be the fault of Homeland Security. Typically you submit your application and wait - there's no set "processing time". And, you can't really start calling your congress-people to try and expedite it until you are being missed.
I spent a few years applying for visas and naturalization from the INS (Homeland's predecessor) and I was shocked at the level of "customer response". My take at the time was that they probably felt like they could treat people like crap because generally the applicants weren't U.S. citizens. I got my congressman involved and even he was afraid of them!

Yeah, God forbid the applicants are scrutinized.

True...they're doing a bang-up job of keeping people who were in the country for most of last year, out of the country now.

I didn't see where it said where Parkhurst might be hiding. Does anybody know? I know he's a little unhappy too.

what ticks me of, is if it was a dominican baseball player it would take 3 minutes.
where are you from?
I have a friend who is going through the same crap right now. He's american and his wife is from england and it's taken 4 and a half months to get her greencard/visa and she's been told it will be another 4-6 weeks.

My brother dealt with the green card issue when he had to renew and it took him a long time, he thought he was going to get deported because of how long it took.

Yeah, God forbid the applicants are scrutinized. sure, but months of delays?
except that while we are checking the paper work of people who are doing it by the book, there is a 3000 mile boarder to the north that you can essentually walk back and forth with no problem either at the POEs or just through woods and fields unwatched, ungarded. and hundreds a day cross illegally at to the south across a 1000 mi boarder.
terrorist always do stuff leagally and buy the book:rolleyes:
meantime, the government is mointoring my telephone calls in and out of the country to make sure I'm not calling terrorists and monitoring all my financial statements to make sure I'm not sending money to terrorists. we're all safer for that.
PBI is ok. the country is safe!

isn't it stupid? My friend paul, who is from england has lived here for 10 years. went to school here, etc. is engaged to an american but since left his job (contract came to an end) he has to go home to get a new h1-5 (or what ever it is). he couldn't reapply here and stay until it was settled...

Before this degenerates into an immigration thread....
As tough as we're being on the Globe and the Herald for the lack of coverage, the Cape Cod Online article was fantastic and exactly what we're looking for (for the most part). If you writing e-mails to denigrate the globe and the herald, you should write one to thank CCO for this type of coverage.

By the way, the Cape Cod Times articles can be commented on, so comment away.

Ralston says the team may play over 50 matches this year.
To do that they will need one heck of a lot more actively used players than last season. Wow, roster changes over the next two months should be real interesting.
