Totti has retired from international football, so I'm not sure he counts. Good call on Klose, I very much agree. Henry and Kaka would be in my top 10 as well.

Henry played VERY well for France last year, and scored some key goals. He definitely had a considerable hand in their qualification.

I definately wouldnt say 'VERY well'. His stats are no doubt impressive but he failed to put many easy balls away. A handful of players that havent been mentioned thus far played better for their country including David Villa, Mutu, Eduardo, Iniesta, and even his own teammate Ribery.

Hahaha I love the idea that Messi is not good, especially as he came ABOVE Ronaldo last year for player of the year, altho that might be because of Utd's match with Milan where Ronaldo didnt turn up. Ronaldo is amazing and his goal scoring is off the chart this year. Messi is more of a support striker and is simply amazing its too close to call. I've only watched messi about 10 times this year but he still looks brilliant.
The other top 3? Hmmm Kaka def, Fabregas....altho he's not played as well recently...can't think of anyone else that has stood out as amazing recently...as to the first guy who suggested Blanco that actually make me laugh so hard.
I would say good old Zlatan for the final spot but after watching him play in the Champions league his performance was woeful compared to league form unlike the other players.

Riquelme is definitely not top 5, definitely not better than Henry or Totti, Totti may have retired from international football but I think he came 1st or 2nd for European golden boot last year.

In no stretch of the imagination is Riquelme top 5 in the world. He's not even in the top 30.

Based on current form Riquelme isn't top five. Top ten for sure and arguably the most influential player on a major national team.

Top ten is a stretch. There are too many other amazing players to put Riquelme that high up.
