true but c.ronaldo has won more games for man u then robinho for real madrid. i would not even put robinho in the top five because he would never beat kaka or rona. one more season and the top brazilians will be
1) kaka
2) rona
3)pato
4)robinho
5) anderson
 Pato is only ********ing 18. There's no way he's going to be better than Robinho in ONE more season (It'll only be his first full season with AC Milan). Robinho has a La Liga title and Copa America championship to his name. What does Pato have? Anderson in the ********ing top 5 Brazilians? Jesus Christ.

Yeah, that may be one of the most atrocious lists I've ever seen. A list of the top Brazilians today would include:
Kaka
Diego
Juan
Robinho
Maicon
Lucio

i wasnt comparing ronaldo to robinho. And to put Pato over Robinho in one season is way too premature.

That's the perspective of someone who watches a lot of European football...if you're going to be patronizing because you watch Brazilian football, well, go ahead but that's a top 6 that's incredibly talented and have performed extremely well for their clubs over the last year.

Inter's GK Julio Cesar should be on everyone's list of top brazilians today

He was nonexistent in the final, but that was just one game.
And he's been solid for them since the summer as well
He was nonexistent in the semi-final against Uruguay as well. That's a pretty big myth that he got Brazil to the final. He only scored against 2 teams in the whole tournament and one of those teams(Ecuador) his goal was a PK.
That being said he has been quite good for Madrid this season.

I'd put him ninth or tenth about Brazilian players.

4. Juan
5. Robinho
6. Lucio
7. Maicon
8. Luis Fabiano
Diego hasn't played enough for Brazil and hasn't done well enough for them to be considered second best.
As for my top 5, I really don't have one. Too many unproven player, as well as player inconsistency to give an accurate list.

Based on recent form Robinho should be #1 in that list.

I would agree. Overall he's been the highest performing and consistent Brazilian on the NT. He's up there as one of RM's greatest players this season as well (which is a bad thing for me :o).

It's not only about the performance in his national team, it's about players of the same nationality wherever they're playing:

i know ochoa is number one but i wasnt talking about gk. blanco is number one to me because of what he did with chicago this year. He led them from the bottom to almost the top. Rafa sometimes makes mistakes but still the best captain ever. nery and pavel havent played that much this year and bravo is killing in the mexican league.

1. Zanetti
2. Messi
3. Tevez
4. Riquelme
5. Mascherano
As for the whole Messi thing, imo he's definitely got more upside than Ronaldo who is worth all the praise he gets. My beef with some peoples views on Messi is that he isn't overrated but over-hyped. He's just recently become a dominant player it's not likes he's carrying a team yet. His day will come no doubt about it but he still has a lot to show.
As for Messi's appearances with the national team, whomever referred to him as Riquelme's bitch is a fool. What is true though is that he's never had good performance for the senior team without Riquelme on the pitch. Messi is the very near future for Argentina that I'm certain of.
To the poster that pointed out Riquelme's age being a detriment, when you look at how he plays the game, age really isn't going to have a major impact on Riquelme. He's never relied on physical characteristics to impose his will on a match so age probably won't be much of a factor.

 Why did you put your top 5 Argentine ranking in mixed order? It makes more sense to have the best Argie as number one instead of two.

And the same applies to the person who said he was slow. He's never been a fast player to begin with. So saying he is slow doesn't mean anything.
My list for top Argentina players:
1) Messi
2) Mascherano
3) Zanetti
4) Riquelme
5) Tevez
------------
6) G. Milito (He's having an incredible season with Barcelona. Imo the most consistent CB in La Liga this season.)
7) Cambiasso (Doesn't shine for the NT since he's honestly played out of position but he's incredible for Inter Milan. Underrated player.)
