But isn't that the reason why him scoring 42 goals was so extraordinary is b/c he's a winger/midfielder and not a forward? So if Ronaldo was considered a forward, that would mean he would take Messi's place? I looked at the list, it is what it is...

He is a forward and his game suffers when forced to play as a traditional winger. My fundamental point is that Ronaldo and Messi have been in the same position for the UEFA team every season until now. Why the change? I have given my explanation and, thus far, no-one has been able to dispute it or offer anything better.
