Del Piero better than Messi? Hey, I have favorite players too, but this is getting annoying.

And I don't like Cristiano Ronaldo, period. But I would not exclude him from a list of the top 5 footballers.

If I were compiling a top 5 of the last 2-3 seasons, Ronaldo would be a lock, particularly over Messi.
Messi is a lock for the top 5 of this season so far for the exact same reason. Ronaldo is an arguable inclusion - I might include Xavi, Ribery, Eto'o and Lahm over him as they have all been influential and the best players at their respective positions.

The only person who needs to get over it is you. Your irrational hate of Messi in every thread is annoying and even if you don't like him claiming he hasn't been one of the best players this season is beyond dumb.

i will get over it when barca wins the liga or the CL without the help of Rona who was the key in barca and messi was just a helper like the rest

messi is on my top ten but not on my top five mainly because barca has had it easy in the liga because of the bad season that madrid is having and the rest of the teams are very inconsistent and that takes away from what messi is doing compare to what ADP is doind for juve or ibra is doing for inter

This makes no sense whatsoever. The rest were just helpers right? Yes, Ronaldinho won those 2 La Ligas on his own. Eto'o, Puyol, Xavi, Deco had absolutely nothing do do with them.

LOL you are a joke. This isn't even worth arguing.

UEFA agree which is why they laughably now consider Ronaldo to be a right-midfielder and Messi a forward. They simply could not have the golden child missing out on the team of the year twice in succession. His fans would not be able to cope.

Ac Milan are having a bad season....
What ADP had done this season is irrelevant because of Milan's bad form....

I'd maybe just change Xabi Alonso for Xavi, however, Xavi is in my Top 10 surely.

So, I know we don't like to include defenders and goalkeepers in these lists () but Casillas just had the best five minutes I've ever seen from a keeper. At his best, he's a top 5 player in the game, and it looks like he's back to his best.

Well, what about a Top 5 of defensive players currently (including goalkeepers, centre backs, defensive midfielders or defensive side backs)?

Idiots! They prefer to consider the opinion of the majority, rather than Teso's!..

I think Teso's point, with which I agree, is that categorizing Ronaldo as a midfielder and Messi as a forward is inconsistent.

Well Messi has a rather free role at Barça, as with his NT. Which is also the case with Ronaldo by the way.
Would you rather have a list that is inconsistent on the players selected rather than only their position?
