Well I'm sure I'm wrong but I will never be able to think of Veron as a good player. I can remember watching him for Man U and Chelsea (obviously I got to watch him more for them I've not watched him playing for many other places) but all I can remember is how he just looked out of his depth, the game was too fast for him, he put in NO effort, I'm not surprised Ferguson treated him like sh*t, he WAS a piece of sh*t! Beckham, I guess he will always be in British peoples hearts because he has always played his little heart out whether the team is winning, losing etc. Plus he has a habit of getting teams out of trouble or winning things. Thats why we like him. Kind of an anti-Veron.
I dont know about that description of Beckham, but your spot on about Veron
Plus to be fair Veron has much better team mates, apart from Donavan, Beckham doesn't really have many players he can rely on or play off.
Either way, Galaxy revolves around Beckham (I'm guessing) and Estudiantes revolves around Veron. And let's be realistic, the Argentinian League is much higher level than the MLS. And he won the title with Estudiantes against teams like Boca/River etc etc while Beckham's Galaxy is a mediocre team

Well I don't watch that much MLS obviously cos I don't live there, but from what I know, Galaxy don't seem to have much of a problem with scoring, they just can't defend to save their lives, so maybe that will be sorted soon if Gullit can (buy? acquire? sign? whatever they do in MLS?) some better defenders, he himself has learned from the best defenders having been at Milan so maybe he'll turn them around. I think MLS is a fun thing Beckham being there has definitely started making me watch it. Although when you get top players being tempted to leave to play for teams like Preston that shows the level of the league. Maybe they should send good players on loan then come back...

I don't know jack shit about MLS or the LA Galaxy. All I know is that they haven't been to the playoffs in at least 3 seasons.

I watch a decent amount of MLS (well I try, sometimes it's hard after watching La Liga...). Beckham has looked very good for the most part. His service has been pretty incomparable in the league and Donovan finally seems to be picking up on it. As someone said earlier, he really has no good target men in front of the goal or he'd be racking up even more assists. Also as someone said, LA's defense has been horrible. Still, with Beckham playing a full season, they'll go to the playoffs this year and I'd easily rate him in the top 3 in the league. I can't really say for the Americas as I don't get to watch a lot of other leagues' games, though.
Blanco has been good too. I'm a DC United fan, and he scored a great goal against us the other night. A very well placed shot. His flopping is infuriating, but he's very good.

Because, in my opinion, although he's doing well the things in Chicago Fire, his level is far from other footballers in stronger competences and more regularity as Verón, Cabañas, Villanueva, Palacio, Vera and many more. Actually, I don't think is too clear is Blanco is the best player of his team considering first Mapp and the Polish Frankowski.
I know he's a good player. but as Beckham and Bravo, I think there are too many players that could be considering before them in a better level.
when blanco still played inthe MFL, year ago, he was still the best player, won player of the year. the chicago fire has only lost 3 game since blancos arrival, in i think 23 games. you didn't watch the fire last season, and see what type of team blanco had to put up with and carry on his shoulders did you.... Frankowskie.....??aii dios..:(

I think the key phrase is "year ago" when we're referring to the current form, and the second mistake is supposing I've not followed the season of Chicago Fire.
Even in his best moment in the MLS I hadn't put him in a Top 5 because it's not only a comparison of the Major League, is about all the American leagues and were and are a good number of better possibilities in my opinion.

Best 5 players:
C.Ronaldo
Kaka(Still great to watch)
Ibrahimovic
Messi
Ribery/Gerrard
Since they're all attackers, i wanna choose 5 top class defenders too:
Essien
Mertesacker
Terry
Sergio Ramos
Puyol
Ferdinand is better than everyone on that list...well not better..but you can't include puyol, essien, ramos without including RIO.

Agreed. My defensive 5 would consist of Ferdinand (in #1), Mertesacker, Sergio Ramos, Puyol and Lahm.

Christ, Puyol is NOT a good defender, not compared to the standards of Ferdinand, Vidic, Terry or Ramos. I'd have those 4, and Chivu or Clichy.

I would go as far as to say that there is nobody anywhere in the world who can compare to the skills of Riquelme, or who brings to his team what Riquelme brings to Boca. Diego Ribas at Werder Bremen might be the closest. Maybe Alex da Souza at Fenerbahce as well. Of course, it is also a function of the team allowing them the freedom to play such a dominant role.

Nice list for the exception of that piece of trash Veron but hey I regress:D Seriously though it's nice to see Rolfi Montenegro mentioned. I've always liked him as a player and thought he was a bit underrated.
