Ted Cikowski, remember our friendly wager:
http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=29686&perpage=15&pagenumber=2

Anyone who can read Korean, ruliweb mention something regarding WE7 International on one of their article here: http://ruliweb.intizen.com/data/rulinews/read.htm?num=11047

Can someone translate what does it say about WE7 Internationl?

yes I remember however I wonder if those figures are correct. My friend works "in the industry" and gets saLES FIGURES every week. WE6 failed to make the top 200 selling PS2 games each week since the first week it came out according to those lists.

I'm not saying you're wrong or those figures are wrong, but something doesn't add up.

Either way, even you have to admit that 57,000 sales isn't very good.

Hmmm OK. Your friend must be smoking something because WE6I was the best seller at ebgames for a while and at amazon. How about the pathetic ExtraTime sales figures? Didn't you say that WE6I would probably sold about 6-7 thousand copies? Well, it has sold more than your estimates. Yes, 57,000 is pathetic but then again, the game is nothing more than a PAL to NTSC conversion on KONAMI part. But the whole point to our debate was that it would sell more than MLS because not everyone in the US like to play with a game with ONLY MLS teams.
My only regret was not to take your $500 bet.

actually he emails me the lists, and according to the lists I've seen it never made the top 200 selling games. Also, it was never a best seller at Amazon. Currently it is ranked 2821 in the videogames sales. But I'll take your word for it that it sold 57,000 copies. I wonder what would have happened if the MLS games were actually available at Gamestop and EB though, but they weren't due to a deal between konami and Toys R us and media play.

Also, can you please give the sales figures from a real website? Zero gamer is a home made site and the list is in Word format. Please find a real website to confirm your glorious victory.

These numbers don't jive with the emails I've been reading, for example according to EB grand theft auto has only sold 3.5 million copies in 2003 (9 million in 2002). And zerogamer has it selling much more.

OK. So your friend has all the inside numbers of all game sales? Well those figures at zerogamers match with those at the-magicbox.com. Look at the US Chart: http://www.the-magicbox.com/Chart-USPlatinum.htm

Don't even try to weasel your way out of this one. I couldn't care if WE6I sales are disappointing compares to other games. All I care is that it beat your prediction of around 6-7 thousand copies and it sells way better than MLS.
And MLS is available at ebgames and gamestop: http://ebgames.com/ebx/categories/products/deptpage.asp?wherefrom=search&searchword=MLS

http://www.gamestop.com/search.asp?sortby=title&searchtype=quicksearch&keyword=MLS&foundin=0

Obviously it sold so well, that they don't have any in stock except of pre-owned copies.

Sorry to butt in to your debate. I'm just hoping that the sales figures you're showing are decent enough to allow Konami to get us WE7 this year. WE6 was truly a fabulous game.

the magicbox site makes no mention of WE6 that I could find. Again i am not saying you are wrong, but I want confirmation from a real website.

And EB and gamestop did NOT sell MLS ET 2002. Yes they had pre-owned copies but they did NOT carry the game. It was already widely discussed here on these boards.

So please get a confirmation from a real website and then give me your pay pal adress.

The magicbox only list games that are top over 1 million units sold. But the numbers of units sold for GTA3 Vice City match with those of zerogamers. You know why? That's because they both use the same source. The NPD videogames ratings. Look the at xcel spreadsheet again at zerogamers. Check the bottom of the spreadsheet. It says NPD LTD. Check the NPD website if you know what it stands for. http://www.npdfunworld.com/funServlet?nextpage=store_body.html&content_id=433

You don't get games sales for free. The NPD listing cost $15,000. I don't know how the guy at zerogamers got the list but what's on his site is real.
It is nearly impossible to get the WE6 International sales figure anywhere on the Web without using the NPD listings. If you don't believe it, that's fine. What does your friend say about WE6I sales? I know for a fact that it does better than MLS. That's was the basis of the whole debate wasn't it. You were ticked off because KONAMI didn't produced MLS2003 but chose to produce WE6I instead. Well, look at MLS sales figures and tell me that if you are a game company, would you produce something that not only does not make money but end of costing you money.

Jordan I am still waiting for a real website.

And you never answered these questions:

in 2000 Konami released a game with MLS teams and a game with Euro teams and the MLS game doubled the Euro game in sales. This is why WE was not released here and MLS saw 2 more versions. Konami and ESPN then parted ways so Konami released WE6 because it was basically free to release (porting). I ESPN and Konami were still partners I am sure that MLS 2003 would have been released or do you think it's merely coincidence that the MLS series ended the same time that ESPN signed on with Sega? After Konami and ESPN wnet thier seperate way Konami pulled the plug on MLS ET, even cancelling thier PS2 version.

Again, I am waiting for a real website, and since you know for a fact hat those sales figures are correct then you should have no problem producing an actual website. Look at the ISP adress for that site, it's run from someone's home. thanks.

Read my post above regarding any websites info that publish videogame sales per units. The only one that does is the magicbox but only games sold over 1 million units.
Regarding your question about MLS outselling the original ISS Pro, read the original debate thread. I already gave my answer there. So what did KONAMI do wrong this time that MLS did so poorly? KONAMI did not cancel the PS2 version because their license was up with ESPN. They had the license before the game was produce. If they cancelled it because of the license, why not cancel out the MLS for the Gamecube and XBOX version too? The PS2 version would probably sold better than the other two versions.
You are trying to weasel your way out of the inevitable again. That WE6I sells better than your prediction.
So you don't believe in the NPD ratings. How are we going to settle this? Do I have to wait till you give out the sales numbers that you got from your friend? What does your friend tells you about the latest sales figures for WE6I?
