No thread for this one yet.
Card:
---------Main Event----------
Interim Heavyweight championship
Tim Sylvia vs Antonio "minotauro" Nogueira
Main card
Hvywt: Frank Mir vs Brock Lesnar
185: Jeremy Horn vs Nate Marquardt
185: Ricardo Almeida vs Alan Belcher
Undercard (may not be televised)
155: Gleison Tibau vs Tyson Griffin
170: Chris Lytle vs Kyle Brady
185: Marvin Eastman vs Terry Martin
205: David Heath vs Tim Boetsch
Looks like a good card but I'd rather see Tibau/Griffin or Eastman/Martin on the main card instead of Almeida/Belcher.

I'm excited about seeing Lesnar vs Mir, I hope Brock destroys him.

I just can't get myself excited for this card and I definitely can't get myself to pay for it. Maybe some of us will go to a bar to watch but this is not an appointment event.

I thought Mir really had something going for him but since his accident he has not been the same fighter. They both have something to prove. My personal favorite for this fight is Mir.

Brock is such a dummy, he deserved to lose the fight...he couldn't cut it as a football player, and he won't be able to cut it as a mma fighter...

Brock was actually better then i expected, but the fight ended how i expected it too. I didn't think it'd be so quick and abrupt but I figured he'd have some horrible technique. He pounded Mir for about 60 seconds then got up to escape an armbar and left his foot out long and was caught with a footlock.

Brock punched Mir in the back of of the head a couple of times, which is illegal. Referee Steve Mazzagatti stopped the match to take a point from Lesnar.

I thought he gave a decent account of himself and did have Mir in trouble, but he wasn't as respectful of Mir's submission skill as he needed to be. If he had backed away when he was standing and Mir was on his back, he'd have been okay - he had taken Mir down at will twice at that point already.
I think Lesnar will be much better in his next fight.

I was praying that Minotauro would win. Having Sylvia as Champion again and watching him grind out decision wins by sumo-wrestling people into a corner again would have sucked.

Brock looked good for his first UFC fight, he just made a few rookie mistakes, hitingin the back of the head and not protecting him self. He was looking for a quick finish, and Mir is smarter than that. I'm sure that Brock will only improve from here.

I did end up watching the fights at a bar. And they were better than I could have hoped for but I'm still glad I didn't pay to watch.

Agreed. He definitely has the talent and drive to become a good MMA fighter but after watching his pre-fight training shows on Spike I say that he actually needs to train with some really good MMA fighters! Not just his old wrestling coaches and a boxing coach.
I've liked Mir for a while and after his terrible accident it looks like over his last 2 fights he has finally gotten back to his true self. He's such a smart figher, tactician and unbelievable submission expert.

Also agreed here. I hate watching Sylvia fight but I will say at least he tried taking it to Minotauro in this fight unlike when he fought Vera and wouldn't take it to him even though the Truth had a broken hand.
There's already talk of a Mir/Sylvia match with the winner taking on Nogueira.

Lesnar show promise in his first UFC fight, but as has been mentioned, his lack of experience was exposed. But Brock has all the tools necessary to be a very good MMA fighter, great wrestling skills with heavy hands, IMO he just needs more fights to get his experience level up.
Also, anyone else think Dana White rushed Lesnar into a bigger fight than he was ready for?; for the simple reason that the heavyweight division is ... shall we say lacking(in a big name draw type of way) since Couture left.

I would think he is only getting this type of fight is because of his name.
