Stoichkov's goal against Dallas on Saturday looked way too easy. Did anybody see what happenned? It didn't look like he bent it down very much and he kicked it quite hard. I think he spotted something in the wall. Did somebody duck or did he fire it over a short guy like Vaca, or did he put it between some heads? I'm just wondering.

I was sitting where I had a direct line to the wall, and the kick was well above it (Maybe someone jumping could have flicked it). I think Jordan was expecting a cross or something, because he was caught flat footed, kind of frozen in place, as far as I could tell. It was beauty of a kick though, despite the fact that the foul call itself was kinda soft.

He had another free kick a bit later that was deflected over the wall by THE REF. I've heard of makeup calls from refs, but never makeup plays!

it wasnt a free kick that got deflected by the ref it was just a shot during the run of play which looked very dangerous until st silva's header. i am certain he wasnt trying to head the ball on purpose but why the hell was he position there? in the box during the run of play what and idiot!

There's no question it was unintentional, but man, if I was a Fire fan I'd have been ready cut my wrists. I didn't see the Deering handball, but that combined with the ref making a stellar defensive play, it's almost too much to take. I drove three hours to see the game, and I know if it had been the Burn victimized like that, it would have been a long drive home.

I wasn't ready to cut my wrists.....but I'm always ready to cut Mr. St. Silva's.

I don't fault Jordan on that goal at all. The wall is supposed to block shots to that side, but for some reason they didn't do their job. Perhaps they were set up too far back or didn't have the post covered.

The wall was horribly positioned. There was about three or four feet between the left side of the wall and the goal post.

So maybe it was Jordan's fault after all for not getting the wall set right.

You could make that case.

Thanks for being the one intelligent Burn fan.

I'll give the old man this: It was a heck of a shot.

That thing had more bends and curves on it than Veronica Paysee. Jordan had no chance no matter where that wall was placed.

He needs to teach that move to Josh Wolff. The only person he impressed with his free kick was the Bears kicking coach.

Walls are there to block anything they can block and make it hard for the shooter. If a goalie thinks that the wall is covering one side and he doesn't have to worry about that side then the goalie is just being naive. He's always gotta be thinking the ball could go either way.

and how is any of that not Jordan's fault? it's pretty hard to not fault a goalie that can't set a wall correctly.

this is one of Jordan's strong points, usually. Don't know why he didn't do it as well this time. Underestimating the old man? maybe.

Stoitchkov telegraphed the shot all the way. Apparently everyone on our D was just snake fascinated with Hristo over the ball. First he took up a position in a straight line formed by the far post, the ball, and him. Then he changed his mind and moved way inside so the ball was directly between him and the near post. Seeing as how he is a left footer, you think he might be trying to bend it near post? But no, our wall stood dumbstruck and Jordan didn't even move on the goal which wasn't really that far from him. I'm not saying he could have saved it, but he could have gotten close if he'd had his s#$% together.
