We can make it. If we do, it will be with our usual heart-attack moments which we seem to produce in every cup competition and somehow get ourselves out of it. It helps all the other teams that one of Arsenal or Man Utd will be knocked out after the 5th round. Preston are also an extremely good chance to beat Portsmouth at home which would most likely leave 4 Prem clubs left out of 8.

Of course you bloody can!

The full list of sides that can make it to Wembley for this season's FA Cup semi-finals is as follows: Arsenal, Barnsley, Bristol Rovers, Cardiff City, Chelsea, Coventry City, Huddersfield Town, Liverpool, Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Portsmouth, Preston North End, Sheffield United, Southampton, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It wasn't even as if Liverpool played that bad, but Barnsley was awesome! A goal with thirty seconds left to win it. Itandje got skooled!

Thank you Thank you Thank you. Classic FA match.

In your Liverpool slums,
You look in the dustbin for something to eat,
You find a dead rat and you think it's a treat,
In your Liverpool slums,

In your Liverpool slums,
You s**t on the carpet, you p**s in the bath,
You finger your grandma, and think its a laugh,
In your Liverpool slums,

In your Liverpool slums,
You speak in an accent exceedingly rare,
You wear a pink tracksuit and have curly hair,
In your Liverpool slums,

In your Liverpool slums,
Your mum's on the game and your dad's in the nick,
You can't get a job 'cos you're too f***ing thick,
In your Liverpool slums...

In your Liverpool slums

Sure Liverpool can make it to Wembley. I'm sure someone at the club can arrange some tickets.

I'm not a Barnsley fan, but when they scored their second goal, I was screaming as loud I could. It just made me so happy to see L'pool go down to Barnsley. What a great FA cup upset.:)

Absolutely brilliant goal. I was hopping and jumping and screaming mad.

Liverpool was terribly frustrated. You could sense an upset brewing even before Stevie G made his appearance (and did absolutely nothing.)

I am still smiling.

I think that the only way Rafa can save his job now is a CL trophy, which I can't see Liverpool getting in any way now. Inter will probably beat them in this round anyway. I'd love nothing more than to see Liverscum trophyless and out of Europe next year. :D

This would be one of the greatest things to ever happen in football.:D

Congrats to Barnsley.
Their goalie was immense.
Hopefully this means Rafa has one step out of the door.

I watched the entire game...games like this are the reason that the FA Cup is arguably the greatest tournament in Europe. Even at the lower league levels, there is real talent scattered about, and for the top teams, if you don't go for the jugular, you can be beaten.

As for Liverpool, they are simply not that good. 7th or 8th place for them this year would be just about right.

Beating AC Milan for the CL title I think was a great blessing at the time -- I thought Liverpool's victory there was the one of the classic examples of overachieving in the history of soccer, since, frankly, AC Milan was twice the team they were.

But it's developed into a curse, a false positive of the worst sort. Aside from Fernando Torres, how have they improved themselves since then? Defensively, they can be disorganized. And so many of their players are incomplete.

Dirk Kuyt can be physically market out of a game. Crouch is good in the air (obviously) and can hold the ball, but facing goal he is very weak. Babel is fast, but is not a good passer or defender. Jermaine Pennant is a right sided version of Babel. Benayoun drifts in and out of games. They have nobody coming off the bench who can make a tired opponent moan in dismay at the thought of those fresh legs. (Gerrard's coming off the bench today as the exception that proves the rule).

Finally, the team concept is lacking. You get the feeling that Benitez likes this player or that player for limited reasons (I wouldn't be surprised if Rafa looks first to see how fast a player is, and is overly enamored of speed), but when it comes to putting the pieces together it just seems so kluged together.

If they finish out of a Europe spot, and don't advance to at least a CL semi, Rafa will almost definitely get sacked.

Firstly, Crouch is not good in the air...dont think that he is just because he is tall. I agree with Babel's passing and defending. Pennant is a much better winger than Babel atm...his crossing and passing are twice as good but due to Kuyt and Crouch's inability to hit the target off their heads he hasnt got an outstanding amount of assists.

Babel is our best 'off the bench' player due to his physical attributes and his direct attacking style.

I look forward to Rafa blaming the loss on Hicks and Gillette.

Its already begun. Well at least the media's doing it for him as well. After every one of Liverpool's losses they bring it up.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3156340,00.html

Like Hicks and Gillette have anything to do with Rafa putting out a crap team full of his own mediocre signings.

If he loses to Inter (which he surely might as Inter are a better team) and blames it on the owners, they should fire him before he returns to his office.

How many people could insult their bosses at their jobs continuously and get away with it.
