Anyone should be expected to score the handball goal that Messi did. The officials' ineptitude in allowing it is irrelevant to that. The same cannot be said about the handball goal that Scholes scored.

It was a lucky overhead slap...not THAT impressive. Scholes also didn't score. ;)

We're arguing over who's handball 'goal' was better, how pathetic :p

I disagree with the former but agree with the latter. I suppose standards cannot be that high at 0518.

That was a spike. It would only have been a good thing in a volleyball game. Teso, it never crossed your mind that it's not Rio, VDS and Scholes being underated, but Terry, Cech and Lampard being overated?

It is both.

Being arrogant is probably one of the main reasons he was so good. I mean, every move he made reeked of arrogance. The chips over the goalies, the seemingly lazy steps, etc. What about that goal for Barcelona in which he received the ball all alone and had a 1 on 1 opportunity with the keeper, and instead opted to lob the ball from outside the box not even letting it touch the ground?

Every great player has a touch of arrogance, for some it's just more plain and obv.

Alexandre Pato. The hype was way over done before he debuted for Milan. I think, with a 1 in 2 record, he has exceeded expectations. Yet, for some reason, the hype is not as big as before. Now he deserves that hype, but he is not getting it. Thus, underrated.

Pepe Reina is amazing every time I see him play. He is far better than Cech, for example, yet gets nowhere near as much praise.

You obviously have not seen enough of Reina. He makes far, far too many stupid mistakes. His last one was in his last game! If anything he is overrated by a great many people who rank him amongst the top 5 keepers in the world, sometimes even laughably as the best. His shot stopping (inc. penalties) and distribution is good enough to just get him into the top 10 but that is it.

kerlon is underated

Keron is overrated based on one trick. He is also a crock.

I have seen far too many Liverpool games for my liking actually and have probably seen Reina about 70-80 times or more. He really doesn't make many mistakes at all. Last one I could think of was that 3-0 against Everton. Your own VDS makes a lot more mistakes than Reina. Reina is also brilliant at catching corners and crosses, one of the most important skills. Can you name any more of Reina's mistakes?

What mistake do you refer to?

Reina is consistently reliable and is much better than the overrated Foster who is only a year younger.

How exactly did you come to this conclusion?

As for Reina's howlers, the ones which come to my mind immediately are ones against us(ronaldo), Everton(johnson), Newcastle (Martins). I am sure there are a fair few more which I didn't watch / cannot recall. Reina might have been better than Cech of late, but that is because Cech is nowhere near the top 5 in the world based on his form last season.

How do I come to the conclusion that Foster is not as good as Reina?

a) By watching football matches
b) Noting that Fergie deems Kuszczak and Van Der Sar better than Foster
c) By watching Foster allow the likes of Paul Robinson score against him from a free-kick in his own half.

You are talking about Andy Johnson scoring in the 3-0 Everton win? That was 2 years ago and Reina has played about 100 games since then. The Newcastle match was 19 months ago and again Reina has played about 80 matches since then. I'll grant you that Reina was caught out last season at OT from crosses but Reina still won the Golden Gloves. If he was throwing goals in every week, like Teso inferred, then this would not have happened. You can only think of 3 matches when Reina has made a mistake that has cost a goal in 161 matches for Liverpool and we are expected to regard that as shaky? It's hardly Taibi form is it? Cech has thrown 2 in recently, one against Babel and the other against Turkey.

Reina is one of the very top Keepers in the country and is still a young keeper at that. Him and Cech are the two standout young keepers in England currently. I also like Gordon too.

It might be interesting to put together a poll to see who most people think are the best Keepers in the Prem. I know there is one but it is about 2 years old and out of date.

He made an awful mistake in HIS LAST GAME. He is prone to making awful mistakes, far more than any so-called top keeper should make. I've already given him credit for what he is good at but Liverpool fans need to do likewise for his obvious flaws.
