At this point, if he cant play the role that Walcott and Lennon have been playing, I expect him to take a lot of time to get his starting position back.
I do agree, Joe Cole is underrated. He works hard on both sides of the ball, something he improved on. He scores goals, and provides unpredictability that few England players outside of Rooney, Gerrard and sometimes Lampard provide.
Underrated player was mentioned earlier, Wilson Palacious. He is a monster. I wonder how good the rest of his brothers are.
Gerrard is fairly predictable.
But that's a good point you've made concerning unpredictability. That and flexibility could work towards getting him on the team.

Freddy Kanoute is pretty underrated imo. He always impresses me when I watch Sevilla and doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
Perhaps Stephen Ireland as well.

But I'm not quite sure what you expect.
Puskas is a forgotten great among some, because this guy is a genuine contender for the greatest player of all time, and yet he is often not mentioned.
But he has the advantage of footage. There is very little footage of Boszik or Hidegkuti or Kocsis.
But I'm all for more recognition for these guys.
well, it's exactly what i expect.
i just find it ironic how he's mentioned as a forgotten great on a forgotten great team, and his teammates get overlooked.

Can't believe you are still alive.
Anyways.
Back to topic.
Underated- Memo Ochoa. He has practically saved the Mexican Nt even though the team has one of the worst defences in its history.

Perhaps because he is yet another top level striker who was inconsistent in other leagues until he moved to La Liga where he suddenly flourished.

Like Fernando Torres of course. Only he went where? ;)

Liverpool would be nothing w/o Torres.

Thanks for the help, (even if you don't realize you helped my argument) but I dont need help from you.

Henry scores less in La Liga, but he's past his prime. Gudjohnsen, Beckham, and Anelka all scored less. We'll see with Ronaldo.
Have many players moved from La Liga to the EPL?

Perhaps because he is yet another top level striker who was inconsistent in other leagues until he moved to La Liga where he suddenly flourished. Not sure I agree. I think he is just a late bloomer (as can happen with many target men) who ended up in a system that played to his strengths.
Kanoute has without a doubt evolved his game since his time in England. Anyone who has watched Sevilla on a regular basis in either La Liga or in Europe can testify to that.
Even if you don't rate the defending in La Liga you could also use his excellent production in Europe if you are simply going by numbers. Or even if you are just going by stats (which would be unfair considering everything he offers to Sevilla in terms of his passing and holding up the ball) you could compare his production to other La Liga strikers who you likely rate.
I feel if you are being objective in analyzing Kanoute it is very clear he is a different player from his time in England.
I agree that the defending is better in England, but I think you are misguided in using it as an argument against the improvement (and quite obvious in my opinion) of Kanoute as a player.
Edit - i am writing this quite late after the consuming of a bit of alcohol. hopefully i can express myself clearly.

Mikel Arteta. It still amazes me that this man has never got a cap for his country even with how good his country is.

An even less well remembered Hungarian is Florian Albert. Overshadowed by the generation of the Magic Magyars which he succeeded immediately, but no less of a great player than the finest of the 1945-1956 Magyars.

Lajos Tichy was a pretty good goalscorer as well following the Golden Team.

Those superior EPL defenses have been on full display so far this season, haven't they?

Isn't that exactly what the EPL has been doing to make their league look better...?
