No. If you look back at a thread in the argie NT forum, I posted since last year that he deserved to be in the NT for what he was doing with Boca. Him along with Battaglia.

agree with Rooney every english player is super over rated, same goes for half the argies and brazilians out their.... just because its a top NT doesnt make them the greatest player in the world. Most of Real MAdrid, Man U, Arsenal Players.

I wouldnt say Rooney is overrated. Sure he is not an out and out scorer but he racks up alot of assists and tracks back to help move the ball to the attack. He doesn't mind playing out of position or going deep and is lethal at counters. He is a great player who is the heart of Manu and England. When he is not there, you can feel the difference.

I'd hardly say Jesus Datolo is underrated. After watching all of his games with Boca and quite a few with Banfield I can tell you he definitely has the ability to be an exciting player but he also can have more than his fare share of shockers and more often than not it's when you don't need him to. As another Boca fan pointed out, he's about is useful and reliable as an ashtray on a motor bike.

Alltime:
Sándor Kocsis
Seems to be overshadowed byPuskás and therefore often forgotten.
Apparently he even was the best Hungarian in 1954 scoring 11 goals (only Fontaine topped that)

He was not a better player thanPuskás overall, but his WC appearance is definatly noteworthy - Top 50 alltime player

Recent:
Raúl González
Real all-time top scorer, CL top scorer, spanish NT top scorer and top 10 forward for many, many years.

Still very soild.

Lilian Thuram
He was the man for France in 1998. A lot of people forget that.

I agree with Kocsis. Though I'm not sure about Thuram and Raul. With Thuram, many people would have had him in their "dream team" when he was still playing and he is widely recognised as one of the best CBs of our time, so I dont think he is underrated. But concerning WC 98, ZZ unfairly took the limelight from him along side Blanc and Desailly.

Concerning Raul, he was one of the hottest strikers in the world whom everyone knew before lost fame due to his post 2003 form and being dropped eventually by Aragones. So he recieved less ratings and fame after his decline, which is understandable.

As for someone saying all the english team is overrated, i would disagree about Joe Cole. He has always been overlooked with his performances.

And as i always have said that showed it again this weekend, Cameronesi.

Of course.
The whole French defense was terrific.

Actually, I think Raúl is one of the most overrated players, a basic example why numbers aren't necessarily a reliable source.

Does this mean that you wouldn't call him an all-time great? Why (I'm curious) ?

I think he's been consistently underrated while other forwards such as Henry have always gotten the attention.

On bigsoccer, it's not fashionable to rate ZZ. If you want to know why, pm Teso.
