What do you guys think about that?

Personally, I am glad that PZPN came down as hard as they did. This had the potential of turning into one of those "something happened but we can't prove anything" affairs, which would have just encouraged such things in the future.

This way any player thinking of throwing a game will think twice before taking money.

Actually, I think this shows the inability of PZPN to act. They have wasted time and found five people that wanted to sell a game. Ok. So in the end they have placed the clubs and five players in the position, two weeks before the first game, in an awkward position. The clubs and players have no time to appeal. How convenient. And now the more comical part, they have found five players guilty to conspiring to sell the game. But sell to whom? Who from the Szczakowianka was planning to pay? So at the end of the day, as always, Listkiewicz got what he wanted.

True, the way they were wavering back and forth inspires no confidence. It was obvious that they weren't sure what to do.

However, this could have turned out much worse. They could have said: "There is no solid proof, just accusations, so we won't do anything." That result would have encouraged other players to do the same. I'm not sure what PZPN's motivation for this decision was, but the net result is clear: Players and Clubs both will be afraid to be implicated with such dealings in the future.

After all, we don't want the Polish league to turn out like the Romanian one, with rampant corruption and collusion.

Well we have rampant corruption, but no collusion.
