A mouthful of a title, I know. Here's the deal though: Is there any song name that is your favorite song by two different artists? I would say that covers don't count, but it's a thread on BigSoccer so write whatever you like. it would be best if the songs are different, despite having the same name.
I'm not sure there's many people can come up with, but I was suprised by the "Name a song you LOVE from an artist which is the ONLY song you like from that artist " responses - so who knows?
Here's my example/submission:
'Soma' is my favorite song by The Smashing Pumpkins
'Soma' is my favorite song by The Strokes

A great-aunt I never met once wrote and recorded a gospel song called "Stairway to Heaven". It sucked, but it was better than the B-side.
Unfortunately for the purposes of this thread, "Stairway to Heaven" isn't my favorite Led Zep song.

But then INXS went and ruined any chance for a quid with "Don't Change."

Shannon Hoon died too soon. Blind Melon could have made so much more music.

Yeah, no doubt. That whole album (the one with the little girl in the bumble bee outfit) is amazing. Not a bad song on the whole album.

And to make it an even half-dozen...how could we leave out Fishbone?
I remember thinking back in '92 that it would have been perfect for Bill Clinton to use as his campaign's theme song*, rather than the more obvious Don't Stop by Fleetwood Mac.
Perhaps Barack could fit this into his campaign's playlist...
Change
Theres a light on a hill
Thats far out in the distance
And it calls out my name
It calls out for a change
Far away voices
That want their own choices
Sigh for a plea
As it calls out for a change
Ooh change
Ooh change
Ooh...
To the root of mankind
It bellows out bitter winds
Youth cry out for today
Strength to cry for a change
Yet it seems clear to me
It pounds inside my soul
Why dont we all see
We can cry out for a change
Ooh change
Ooh change
Ooh...
We can change today (x3)
Deep inside our hearts
Theres a love
You can feel it
Its a love that assures
We can cry out for a change
The dark clouds that did dance
To the blue skies here before me
Make it plain to my eyes
We can cry out for a change
Ooh change
Ooh change
Ooh...
*(Looking back on it, perhaps Bonin' In The Boneyard would've been more appropriate )
