Well we would never know as villareal isnt a selling club anymore.
They sell, they always will sell.
Diego Lopez is better than Pepe Reina.
I agree.
Similarly, you havent seen PIG perform this season when VDS was injured. And Foster's performance against Chelsea (loan at watford).
I've seen most of your games. He's been impressive, but doesn't have anywhere near D.Lopez potential. In another three years you'll be looking for a goalkeeper, you'll remember our conversation. ;)
I have seen D.Lopez playing for Castilla about 2-3 years back and he seemed alright (or good if you're a RM fan). He's around 25-26 and it just doesnt seem a good buy for any top 4 EPL side.
If not for Casillas, you'd be praising D.Lopez for saving our asses, yet you think he isn't good enough for an EPL top 4 side?
The second choice at each club (top 4) is better (at the present/brighter future). Itandje, Cudicini, PIG, Lehmann/Fabianski are all supposed to be better than Lopez.
You can't be serious.
Anyways, I'm sure had it been Diego Lopez who was starting this whole time and Casillas waiting in the wings, you'd of said D.Lopez is quality one and Casillas is the one not worth of a top EPL side.
It's your opinion and I can't change it, however he is very underestimated due only to Casillas dominance.

Cruz is class. Johno has been pimpin him for years on this board and his talent has never been questioned. Very good in the air and a clinical finisher. Makes me wonder why he hasn't moved on to seek more 1st team action.
He's actually been a regular starter for Inter this season. His partnership with Ibrahimovic has been excellent.

I don't think Cambiasso is a traditional DM. He's a perfect example of a box to box midfielder imo. This year he's even added goal scoring to his repertoire. Too bad he doesn't play even close to that level with Argentina. Though it's probably because he's being played out of position out wide. yeah, but of course one of those goals was a harmless lob right at dida.
you're right, he can get forward, but i personally would call him a d-mid, even though yes, there are admittedly different molds of d-mids. he isn't offensive-oriented enough to call him a cm in my mind, kind of like ambrosini at milan or de rossi at roma, i would call them dms as well, even though they are blessed with some offensive skills (de rossi very much so) and also like to get forward. anyways, regardless of what one labels him, for inter cambiasso has been immense now for a couple of seasons. a player i admire and certainly has exceeded any and all expectations I had when he came from madrid on the cheap. I agree that for the argies he hasn't been up to club form, though.
And I'm surprised you didn't mention Cruz. He's extremely underrated and is having a great season.
well, I didn't want to list half their roster. :D
true, cruz has done excellent, maxwell has been good at both left back and when moved forward into the midfield, since settling from lazio the young chilean jimenez has done well, and had a great derby versus milan, etc. the scary thing is, that suazo just now seems to be settling in as well, but we will have to see if he can confirm this form, but he can be a scary alternative of the bench with his torrid pace against tired opposition legs. really they are just a stacked team at this point, but though very deep, and built for long competitions like the league, or the coppa italia which tests depth, in the cl versus the best teams, i think they can be had, even if stankovic gets integrated back in and fully going on form.
mainly because they do rely a lot on ibrahimovic for creativity, and mancini is not the most experienced or accomplished european tactician. so i can hold out hope for them to be knocked off in europe. the coppa and serie a are both theirs to lose, though.

I thought they're being bankrolled by a billionaire/millionaire now.

I thought PIG was topnotch and almost flawless in the games when VDS was better. In what aspects is Diego better than PIG ?
If not for Casillas, you'd be praising D.Lopez for saving our asses, yet you think he isn't good enough for an EPL top 4 side?
Nope I dont think any GK other than Casillas can do what he is doing in there. Not only top notch saves but he also arranges the defence well and you can always hear him barking out instructions. That guy just doesnt like to lose.
You can't be serious.
Anyways, I'm sure had it been Diego Lopez who was starting this whole time and Casillas waiting in the wings, you'd of said D.Lopez is quality one and Casillas is the one not worth of a top EPL side.
Actually I highly believe in what I said. Itanjde is a top notch keeper from Lens and he is already better than Reina. Cudicini again is a good GK and had he shown some ambition(and left chelsea), he would be a good first choice GK anywhere. Lehmann is erratic but I think no one can doubt that he is a good GK.
PIG is young and is good enough to deputise for VDS. Foster is an upcoming talent and if not for his injury he would be pushing VDS all the way.
It's your opinion and I can't change it, however he is very underestimated due only to Casillas dominance.
You're giving me more reasons to watch villareal games. Rossi tabwatch + Diego Lopez . Will try to watch the 2nd leg of their Copa del rey game against Barca.

That was my personal highlight of the season thus far. It was hilarious enough watching it live but the thought of your reaction made it even better. :D

Doesn't matter who bank rolls them.

I thought he just ran through a patch of great form. However Lopez on the other hand stays at a high level. It is not uncharacteristic for him to play so well, while on the other hand PIG was playing in the form of his life.
I'd rather depend on a "Casillas" than and "Abbiati" feel me?

I know that. What I was saying is had Casillas never existed, Diego Lopez would be the one that most people would be gushing over. While he obviously isn't as good as Casillas, he is VERY good and any team would be lucky to have such a good keeper. We were lucky enough to have him as a backup!

Well, in that same respect Casillas was the starter and Diego Lopez the backup. IMO, Casillas is better than all the starters you labeled above, and D.Lopez is better than, I'd say all except Cech or possibly VDS.

He's started 4 La Liga games and has 15 saves (2 wins, 1 draw, 1 lose to Madrid).
He has started 6 Uefa cup games and has 16 saves (5 wins, 1 draw).
While I know he isn't the only deciding factor to Villareal's sudden burst to the top of the table, he's a factor in it.

why better than buffon? and why clearly? just curious as to reasoning.
just the volume of shots he faces, or rather, used to face, when madrid's defense was in shambles. if i remember correctly, he's faced more shots than anyone else in la liga over the last few years. and the way he seemed to set a force field around the goal. and the sense that all those wins would have been draws and all those draws would have been loses. i'm guessing that you could say my reasoning is only a feeling. but then, both are class, and it's like choosing between a bimmer or merc.

I think you're under-rating PIG quite a bit. But I cant blame you for it.

I hope you dont take it in a bad way but without casillas, you guys wouldnt have won La Liga #30. Diego Lopez needs to prove his credentials
and if he is as good as your making out to be, he will eventually make a name for himselves.

Again at present, D.Lopez isnt proven yet as he has just got a guaranteed spot in a La Liga team.
As of now Itanjde , Cudicini , PIG and Lehmann have to be considered the better GKs.
While I know he isn't the only deciding factor to Villareal's sudden burst to the top of the table, he's a factor in it.
Well I used to watch them due to Forlan (due to obvious reasons).. But I absolutely despise some of their players. Capdevilla, Pires, Franco , Senna (cant believe we actually were interested in this guy some time back), Cygan etc.
The good players to watch are Nihat, Matias Fernandes , Rossi and Diego Lopez.

You better pray Ramos ass don't snap Diego up. I'm telling you, he's a mini-Casillas just taller. :D
IMO, he's better than almost all the EPL keepers, minus Cech on a good day and possible VDS or Reina only due to them having more experience.

Given has been pretty average at best all season, Harper could feel really aggrieved that he lost his spot to the guy when he got fit again. Hell, even Allardyce said he was really unsure about putting Given back in, and said he felt bad for Harper.
Mind you, I just mean this season, Given has been a great keeper over his career. Just having a poor year. That defense in front of him aint helpin much either.

He is also a little bad for team spirit, he's criticized alot of fellow players past(Bramble which is deserved) and present.

But robinho with that long ass thumbsucking needs to stop....I log on onto a footy site and they have a BIG ASS picture of robinho with a thumb in his mouth...people in the lab looking at me like "ay dude"

From the horse's mouth:
"[Benitez] adopts a rotation policy, I knew that beforehand. He has his own special ideas. He announces his starting XI one hour before kick-off. He will never give a hint at training whether you start or not.
