"Gigli" has been panned left & right and it's certainly a pleasure to watch it tank. "Planet of the Apes" had more romantic spark in it. I would've loved to sit in on the meetings when someone pitched this turd:

"Ben plays a mafia hitman. J Lo is also a hitman for the mob, but here's the catch - she's a LESBIAN! And they sort of fall in love but he doesn't convert her. What's not to like?"

As someone noted in the "Reviews in 25 Words" thread, Gigli had a similar plot (and Ben Affleck in common) with Kevin Smith's "Chasing Amy." But Chasing Amy got generally good reviews when it came it in '97...

Now the bad pub for "Jilly" will no doubt have a negative impact on Smith's next film, "Jersey Girl" which features... Affleck & J.Lo. :(

I think Smith can come up with a better plot and you know that he will have good dialogue.

I love that they spent 25 million on salary for Jlo and Baffleck and another 25 million on publicity and the movie made 3 million it's opening weekend.

I believe it's "Bennifer"


All I can think of right now is the South Park epsiode where Stan and Kyle are torturing a Barbie when Kyle says "That'll teach you to make more movies and albums, Jennifer Lopez!"

And the one where Cartman pretends his hand is JLo
and no one can tell the difference, talent wise.
