My high school is installing turf for the upcoming school year and I have a couple of concerns regarding the artficial surface. Since the ball sits better and seems to have a easier striking rate on grass than turf. Is turf easier of harder to kick on? Would you prefer grass or turf? Should I buy the Nike Total 90 II indoor shoes or play with cleats instead?

I would get a pair of Turf shoes and a pair of cleats (molded not screw ins unless you want to spend the extra cash) you can use the turfs for home games and practice and the cleats for away and club games.

turf is all the same to kick on in terms of contact with the ball the only thing is that you may have to adjust your speed becasue the ball moves a touch faster on the turf so your timing may be off at first but you will get use to it.

Is this real astro turf or the new pro grass? if it's pro grass its a little softer and you will not get as many burns as astro turf gives i would recomed getting under armour turf grea if its real astro turf to protct your arms if you get tripped.

Good Luck

Thanks for the advice but I've look through the Eurosport magazine and looked at the turf shoes. Most of them weigh in at 11 ouces or more and I'm a fast player that desire light shoes. Extra weight is the last thing I want when I'm going all 90 or a half play in a match. Can you give a suggestion on which shoe is the best buy with great qualities?

Really shoes will not weigh you down unless they are like something absurd like 24 oz,the weight issue is something soccer companies have been pushing for a while to sell more boots thats all once your foot is adjusted to the shoe, the only shoe that really has a noticealbe weight difference is the vapor becasue its so light and even when I stoped wearing mine and switched to the total 90 ll's for a while I never really could tell while I was playing

I wear the Tiempo Premier turf its lighter than 11 oz Eurosport has it wrong there, this shoe is all around quality and the leather is very soft the zoom air in the heel provides more support than the Mundial team, the Puma King Turf is nice as well with good heel support.

I would also recomend if buying two pairs of shoes one turf and one cleated get the same shoe in a turf as the cleat becasue your foot will be use to the fit of the boot and you will be more comfortable while playing.

I find with that pro-turf, the ball tends to lose a lot of velocity when bounces (you see the rubber fly up).
