Fortuna Düsseldorf beats Werder Bremen 3:1 and Borussia Dortmund 1:0 to win "Stadtwerke Düsseldorf Wintercup" in an amittedly spotive valueless tournament, but it´s nice to see my team competing with some of Germany´s top-teams...and winning!

Don't give away scores in the thread title.

Also, moved to the Germany clubs area

Congrats to the neighbours! :)

However, you have to take care ;) ... since we won the Winter Cup last year, and got relegated in the end.

Good luck for the 2nd season half! Would't mind seeing you back in the professional football (as a big "Tote Hosen" fan).

PS: Is the Gladbach boy Ali Albertz still playing for Fortuna?

Pretty unremarkable pop rock. The felt 1 million times people started to sing "Hier kommt Alex" when I entered a room back in the day probably didn't help either. That song probably has a longer wikipedia entry than some countries: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hier_kommt_Alex

But I really like the video to "Alles aus Liebe". For the song, see sentence one of this post though.

Well, as for Fortuna Düsseldorf... Fortuna - Eintracht, back in 2002 was an awesome game. Had to say something soccer related :D.

Well, Fortuna have a few "hardcore fans" I don't really appreciate (I remember them from diverse derbies against Gladbach in the past). The rest of the fanship and the club are ok, though.

Btw: Here's the Fortuna "superstar" :-)

PS: The "LTU-Arena" in Düsseldorf is the biggest 3rd league stadium in Germany.

thanks a lot! Well, I don´t think, we´re threatened to be relegated...but if we don´t get promoted, that´s bad enough! ;) Would like to see derbies against MGB again, too!:)

To be true, I have no idea, where he is...definitely not on our roster!

Of course I know that. :-)

I woulnd't mind either. Gladbach, Düsseldorf and Köln in one league - that would be very interesting for the whole Rhein area! :-)

So he really left Fortuna after last season? Well, then he should have enough time to care for his house & garden in MG. :-)

Btw: The Rangers fans are still shocked about this pic! :-)

i think it'd be great to have Fortuna, Koeln and Gladbach all together in one league...

Düsseldorf do indeed have a great stadium, some great fans and of course....

ALTBIER!!!!!! :D

Ja, the stadium is definitely state-of-the-art...and right now pretty filled (31.058 I think),as we´re losing against Bayern München! :-( However, Fortuna has the stadium, the city and would have the attendance (and of course the beer ;-)), to play in Bundesliga and hopefully they´ll be playing their again soon! If Fortuna improves so that it gets provided this season, we could already have these derbies next season, but right now it looks like Koeln and Gladbach will "escape" to the Bundesliga...of course I can understand that...I would be afraid to play against Düsseldorf, too! ;-)
