Fortuna Düsseldorf - VFL Wolfsburg II 3:0
4th right now...2 points behind Oberhausen (2nd).

Up next:
Eintracht Braunschweig - Fortuna Düsseldorf

Keep your fingers crossed!

After the 1:1 away draw in Braunschweig, it looks pretty bad for Fortuna!

2 games to go ... and you have to make up a 4 points lag to spot 2!

You´re totally right...unfortunately!
We´ll see, how the last games turn out for Fortuna and Oberhausen...

I wanted to see Fortuna and RWO getting promoted ... but it seems that only 1 of both teams can make it to the 2nd league.

nope instead we have another team that nobody cares about in 2nd liga!

seems to be the new trend

this is Germany's second division...
we should be able to see the Magdeburg's, Dresden's, Essen's, Braunschweig's, Düsseldorf's, Siegen's...Hell i'd love to see Stuttgarter Kickers, Regensburg, Burghausen or even VfB Lübeck...

but no we are blessed with Ingolstadt, FSV Frankfurt, Ahlen, Hoffenheim and the Sport Verein Wehen Wiesbaden ;)

If they had better management, they might be able to get to a higher leverl. Can't live in the past, just try to make the future better.

I can't really see how Siegen or Burghausen are different from Wehen, Ingolstadt or Ahlen, actually. And FSV Frankfurt is a pretty historic club actually. Say what you want, but you don't get more old-school (again, no idea what makes them different from Kickers).

Ever thought of writing fortune cookie messages? :D

Dude, Burghausen is by no means different then Ingolstadt or Ahlen...
And Siegen?! Well, Id go ahead and say that FSV Frankfurt is a much more interesting club.
I agree with the rest of your post tough ;)
But its not a new trend... Its always kinda been like that. Look at all the clubs that played 2nd Division for one year or the other in the past.

Edit: Ups, should have probably read Alex's post first...

Yes, sounds a bit stupid, but next season i
propably care more about BL 3 than about BL 2.

Burghausen, just an example.
At least they actually have somewhat of a supporters section that makes some noise...Ingolstadt and Ahlen??? i have no idea so i'd rather see a team like Burghausen...

FSV may be very traditional yes but...they seem to have a nice small Ultras group sure but...Other than those 50 or so hardcore fans...they don't seem to have anything else.

Siegen you may find boring, but their fan-base is really strong. good home and away support!

P:S yeah the 3rd liga might be more interesting for next season...

I dont know what you consider "really strong"... But Ive been to Siegen and there was littel to no Fanbase there. I dont mind them at all, but as I said, I think FSV is just as interesting. They may not have much of a Fanbase either, but they sure are a club with a rich history. Theyve been to the Cup Final and the Final of the Championship. Before the war, Eintracht-FSV was a fierce derby and riots occured more then once. Their problem, is that the few fans they have left are on average about 70 years old :D But I see some potential in Bornheim. Afaik they have connections to Jena aswell, so there must be somewhat of a Ultra-oriented core there...
But lets not spam the Fortuna thread with that. I might post a little introduction on them in the 2nd Division Thread if they make it there.

The 3rd Liga will be great! I hope they show many games on TV! Id watch Fortuna-Dynamo, Magdeburg-Essen or Union-Offenbach any day! :)

Congrats on keeping your chance alive (thanx to RWE)!

The last matchday will be very thrilling:

You need an away win in Erfurt and have to hope for a RWO defeat in Berlin. Tough, but not impossible!

Good luck.

As you said...not impossible, but not likely either...however, I won´t loose hope until it´s over!
C´mon Berlin! ;)

Unfortunately it didn´t went your way in the final round...But cheer up, considering the kind of clubs that where relegated you did fine actually, just not fine enough for promotion sadly.

Fortuna simply made too many gifts during the season.

Pity.

Sad but true! Just one win against Lübeck would´ve been enough!
However, it will be even harder to get back to the 2. Bundesliga through the new 3. Liga!
We´ll see, what future brings...

As I see it..and this is purely hearsay I must admit, the "major" 3.liga clubs like F95 and some others will benefit financially and might actually shorten the gap between 2 and 3.liga.

That´s what the media claims anyway

Fortuna lost its first match in "3. Liga" against Paderborn 1:4 in front of more than 15.000. :(
