I've always loved bridges. This web site has views of 18 of the best. Please add other sites and pictures of bridges. Even other views of the bridges here are welcome!

Any bridge site without this guy is woefully incomplete.

I was on the design team for this guy. Matter of fact, it's my fault it's blue.

The most famous bridge never built.
The Ruck-a-Chucky Bridge across the American River in Northern California, designed by T. Y. Linn and Associates. I think it is one of the greatest bridge designs. Steel and concrete overcoming gravity.

During Kansas City’s sesquicentennial celebration, a group of area-wide development and beautification ideas where identified and coined, the 10 Giant Steps for Kansas City. One of the beautification ideas was a proposal to paint and light the bridges that serve as the gateway into Kansas City’s downtown from the Northland communities. The DTC molded this proposal into a goal, the Missouri River Bridge Enhancement Program, including the Broadway, Paseo and Heart of America bridges, which connect downtown Kansas City to the region. This is a $3.2 million public-private partnership project. The three bridges were illuminated for the first time on July 2, 2004.

The Broadway Bridge features aesthetic lighting including red floodlights illuminating the arches and cables of the bridge from the deck. The bridge was also painted a neutral light gray color by MoDOT.

The underside of the Heart of America Bridge is illuminated with green tinted aesthetic lighting visible from the Richard L. Berkeley Riverfront Park, neighboring communities along the riverfront and to those traveling over the Paseo Bridge.

Illuminated gateway features have been installed on the piers of the Paseo Bridge which also has illuminated bridge pylons and cables. The tower pylons were recently painted a glowing blue, with the remaining portions of the bridge painted light gray.

Why this bridge is not on the list, like the Brooklyn Bridge is incredible.
Isambard Kingdom Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge designed 1836. Construction completed 1864.

Burnside
Built without permission, by skateboarders and later sanctioned by the city, Burnside is the preeminent example of action. Burnside's unique growth and evolution -through the sweat and blood of a handful of dedicated individuals- have matured into one of the best skateparks in the world. Burnside and its creators are true pioneers, setting the stage for community built skateparks across the country. http://www.skateoregon.com/Burnside/Bov.jpg
