Elano, Ireland and Petrov need to get involved. Our scoring opportunities have becom less and less each match. I missed Nery's injury, what happened?

1-0 City and payback is a bitch................ha ha ha
What's more pathetic is that West Ham hasn't scored against Manchester City in 450 minutes ha ha ha. Can you imagine? 450 minutes without a goal???
Looks like City has been Roasting Ham these days........................

I can Imagine...I think we went like 22 hours without a goal at home with Stuart Pearce as manager.

Nery fell awkwardly to the ground after a tackle and was stretchered off - dislocated shoulder.
It was another frustrating game, the only highlights were Petrov's runs (mcfc's MOTM and mine). But, too many times, no-one was making themselves available to him and his crosses into the box were unmet by a blue shirt. Partly because we lacked the height in the box. I kept urging him to get in the box himself and have a shot on goal. I admire his work ethic and even though he sometimes had few passing options (and must have been really frustrated that his team mates weren't available!), he never gave up running down the wing and challenging for the ball.
Bianchi gave us the height in the box when he came on for Nery and things improved slightly - if his name had been Ronaldo, he would've scored what looked like an almost certain goal! It was fitting that another Petrov cross was the making of our goal. Bianchi headed the ball on to the upright and when it bounced back out, Elano was there to score. A brave diving header by Elano at waist height with a defender's boot close to his ear, phew that was close.
The next 15 mins were tense, a one goal lead is a rocky one. We held on, but the Hammers could've equalised and we could've scored another.
I was disappointed with Nery's contribution, he seemed to fall to the ground too easily (no free kicks were awarded) and frequently and made a number of stray passes. Darius was again a fantastic work horse. Joe Hart was in the right place to stop what should've been a certain goal and on the whole had a good game. Our defence wasn't as strong as it has been and the Hammers had a few good runs on goal.
Joe's goal kicks are still not being met by a blue shirt, he did roll the ball out a few times, but we seemed to struggle to keep possession and threaten their goal. The ball was back in our half all too quickly. We made a lot of back passes, from what should've been good attacking positions, so to me that means our forwards were not running and making themselves available - same as for Petrov's runs.
Enough time for SGE and team to work out the kinks before we meet the Hammers again on Sunday. We need these points to get back to 4th place, the pundits are already saying that the wheels have come off our wagon! We need a tall, proven EPL striker.
Come on City

well, when you're relying on Joey Barton, that's what happens. but we'll never mention those days again as it brings back painful memories
Good to get a win, but we need to rediscover our form ..

Seems EPL is just too physical for foreign strikers. First Bojinov, then Nery...

We need a big, tall, yet fast Post Striker like Lucas Toni or Drogba to play effectively in Sven's 451 system. There isn't that many world class ones so it's pretty hard to find, even with Sven's extensive scouting network.

He's Mexican, I could have told you he would dive like an Olympian. Sanchez has their whole national team doing it.

Yeah, well you're a gringo.
You have nothing good to say about Mexico because of it.
That of course makes your opinion worthless.

In that case, let's stick it to Ham one more time this weekend. Extend its scoreless streak against us to 540 minutes..............
We're roasting Ham this weekend. Ham for everone.

Great news we're through. West Ham can consider themselves unlucky in the Fa cup game and todays league match, all in all a win to get us through to the next round of the cup and another point in the league is good considering we've been off-form.
