Why hasn't he worked out? I can tell you that he has talent. He was Dinamo's best player in some pretty good european wins(Ajax,Porto). He can play as a central defender or a defensive midfielder. And he can do much more with the ball than he has shown. I think Houllier hasn't helped his confidence by playing him all over the pitch. He played him once, away to Chelsea on the left of the midfield. Of course he was awful!

Well, he has been played all over the place, no question. That probably doesn't help. He played rather well in the Cologne game, I believe he was playing center back. Very solid in that game. But then against Galatasaray, he was more than a tad sloppy.
Still a huge question mark as far as Liverpool is concerned.

So does he want to leave or has he decided to fight for more playing time this year?

That, I do not have the answer to. I do feel that if he stays, he'll be more focused in just playing defense, with all of the extra midfield signings that happend this summer. But, that is just my opinion, we'll see what really happens soon enough.

I think Biscans best chance of playing regular first team football is at centre half as cover for Hyypia and Henchoz because we have got to many midfielders.

Agreed! Even with Hamann out until Nov. still leaves Gerrard Murphy, Kewell, Cheyrou, Diouf, Diao, Le Tallec, Smicer, and sometimes/maybe Heskey, Carragher, Pongolle.

This is something that has been a question of mine for awhile, as well. When he first got here he played centrally with Gerrard a couple of times and the folks at espn soccernet were raving about that pairing. Prior to coming here he had an excellent game for Dinamo against ManUre in the champs league at O.T.
I agree that he has been played out of position. I always have seen him as cover for Hamann. W/ Dietar out maybe he gets to slot back into the center of midfield as a defensive/holding mid.
I do think that sometimes he might play a little to square or backwards for the Premier league. He's a little bit more continental that way: he likes the simple square pass or back pass.
Just my thoughts.
