View Full Version : Forum Question: Include Draft Stuff?

I was wondering, should we include draft/combine type stuff in here? It seems to me we should, for a couple reasons:
1 - It helps populate the subtopic and keeps folks coming around.
2 - I think conceptually it's not much of an extension to include guys who are basically MLS prospects from any avenue. (Plus, there are a lot of GenAd players in each superdraft. They go as young as a Nimo or an Ibrahim.)

Absolutely it should be here. Also, I think we could use this forum for keeping track of draft prospects throughout the year, i.e. discussing college players and maybe even YNT player in terms of their potential as MLS players.

If you want to keep draft/combine threads here, you may want to change the title of the forum to include College or SuperDraft (especially since there are more Draft-related posts than Youth & Development posts at this point) so folks know to look here for content as opposed to News & Analysis.

Shouldn't this forum be more about MLS Youth Academy teams and players?
If we include all of the Draft and Combine information, then the real purpose for this forum is lost. MLS N&A was a great forum for Draft coverage.
Let's keep this new forum a clearing house for MLS Youth Academy info.
That's my $.02

No, it is a separate topic.
And may I say, as politely as I am able (not very), that it was a terrible idea to do this without prominent notice in the main N&A forum. I, for one, missed the entire discussion of the combine in this well hidden cranny until the last day of the combine.
IMHO, the mods who devised this diabolical plan to hide discussion of the combine should be tarred and feathered, stripped of their posts, and placed on the FBI's 10 most wanted list until next years combine.

They aren't youths (with a few exceptions) and MLS isn't developing them.
Back to N&A. Or at least a note about a bunch of moved threads.

I voted no also because I didn't think this was the point of this forum, but at minimum I think a sticky in N&A announcing where it is might help (if one doesn't already exist).

Also - this poll should be posted in N&A so folks who don't know this forum exists can have a vote.

With the draft a few days away and folks already used to posting on N&A for draft-related items, I would keep the draft threads there and decide the draft's ultimate forum sometime in the off-season for the draft (i.e. February - December) but not now.

No.
Why do you guys constantly tinker with shit that's working just fine.
You're like my kids. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD do something.
Christ, have you guys been watching too much of the campaigns and just got obsessed with change? Change for the sake of change isn't good if there is nothing improved. This is a definite case of that.

Draft stuff back to N&A.
