Take a look at this guy - Steve Mandanda (Olympique de Marseille).

A future great GK for Marseille and the French NT.

Casillas.
This man is truly amazing with a pair of goalkeeping gloves. Sometimes he turns super human and saves more than 90 percent of shots towards goal. Truly remarkable and as someone mentioned it, he has been a integral part of the Real Madrid team for the last 6 years.

Gianluigi Buffon.
The reflexes of a cat. Smart. Supremely confident. Commanding. Great shot stopper. Great under pressure. Need I say more?
For those of you who don't watch much Serie A. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPglXyAKB5Y)

This is a tough question. IMO I see it as a two way tie between Buffon and Cech. Both are great keepers and would be great for any team. Both are decent but it's hard to say. Casillas isn't too far behind.

Dont get too biased...Cech is currently way behind Casillas and Buffon...in distrubtion, shot-stopping and single handedly being able to win or save games for their teams...Casillas has been superb in this last point this season.

Agreed, plus Cech has had a few mistakes this season which puts him slightly behind Buffon and Casillas.

Last time I checked Cech's saved Chelsea's skins quite a few times this season and from the times that I've watched Juve Buffon's made some mistakes also. Cech may not be so good at penalty stopping but last time I checked he's good at shot stopping.

Are you forgetting his mistakes this season?

I can't remember one Buffon's mistake for last 2 or 3 years.

Well, I think the last time you checked was a few seasons back. After the head injury last season, Cech has gone downhill and it is not necessarily his fault. He is not equal to Buffon and Casillas anymore, in many aspects of his game.

Agreed, but he's a solid #3 on the list and that's nothing to scoff at.

People, stop putting the players on a pedestal, they're not untouchable. People say "1Buffon2Casillas3Cech" as if it was some kind of axiom, a self-evident truth.
It makes you wonder what the other keepers must do to break into the list. Take a look at Julio Cesar this season, for example. Why shouldn't he be considered ahead of Cech in terms of recent form? Diego Alves? Diego Torres? What about the keepers that don't play in La Liga, Serie A or the EPL? Did you people know Preud'homme before the 94 World Cup or his Benfica days?

I think the top echelon of goalkeepers has been pretty well established, fair or not. I agree with Kulspruta that It's increasingly hard for "lesser name" goalkeepers to breach that echelon even if they've proved themselves. It's just soccer fan nature to go for the big names I guess.

You're a Liverpool fan, aren't you supposed to hate Chelsea :D. No wonder you don't agree with Cech being #1.
Buffon = Casillas > Cech = Van der Saar > Reina

I would slightly tweak it
Buffon> Casillas > Cech= VanderSar> Reina
