Does anyone know what this says?

wigan have offered us koumas and we are short of central midfield players with tugay now injured, but we should have gone for him in the summer , but jugging by his form at wigan no thanks stay well clear i think we can do better.

But what can we *afford*??? As Tugay gets older, my fear of his fitness for an entire season is getting more and more. I hate to say it, but I don't think he can handle the whole 90 anymore.

Have we actually offered him ?
Steve Bruce is saying that he's going nowhere and Mark Hughes had denied making an offer from what i have read today.
That said, i'd happily let him go personally. He's a luxury and probably only 5 or 6 teams in the Premiership can afford to regularly play a Koumas type player

I don't think so. There is nothing in BRFC news that indicates any of this. (Maybe I'm wrong though  )

Batch -- why doesn't Wigan have its own forum on BigSoccer -- not that I'm complaining about your posts to our BRFC forum...
I remember when Wigan came up a few years ago, and I was the only one watching them in Toronto (because of the dashing Steph Henchoz, of course :D ). BTW why do you suppose PJ got rid of Henchoz when his contract expired with Wigan? I thought he was doing a bang-up job, TBH.

1) not got a clue. When i log on i basically just search "Wigan" and look what threads pop up, see who is saying what about us etc etc.
There is a Wigan thread and a few people have mentioned having a Wigan forum but the powers that be either havent seen them, or ignored them.
2) Henchoz started well for us but after around December he got progressively worse* - but then so did the whole team to be honest - . He was getting caught for pace time after time, his positioning went to pot. Just everything really.
*(including one of the worst performances i have ever seen from a Wigan player in the League Cup Final)

This may appear controversial, but I firmly believe that Steven Reid is rubbish. Sure, he's got a powerful right foot that can blast a ball, but that's about it. I just don't rate him at all. Why is he now a first choice CM? How could Hughes let it get this bad? I mean, he knew Tugay was getting on, and now he's gotten rid of Savage that only really leaves us with three choices:
Dunn (unpredictable)
Mokoena (not attack-minded enough)
Reid (y'all know what I think about this guy)
We'd better buy another midfielder this month. If Koumas is the only choice, I'd take him, but to be honest, I'd rather we bought a player who made our current squad members compete for their place - Koumas is not an example, to my mind, of this kind of player.

All I can think of, actually it's more of a hope for, is that we've got someone lined up to come in because we are really short in midfield. I don't mind Reidy if you've got someone else who can do something with the ball, he's good or was good at winning the ball back and running around like a nutter, like Sav, but not to pass the ball I agree.
Not sure if Koumas is the answer though.

the guy has been out injured for 14 months you cant expect him to be back to what he was yet and considering dunn and reid are the only 2 fit central midfilders we have got then we have no choice but to have them in the first team.

Fair enough, but I never rated him before he got injured either. I just think if we settle for Reid as the standard at our club, we'll be opening ourselves up to a world of pain in the future.
