Breaking news Jürgen Klinsmann to succeed Hitzfeld at Bayern
11.01.2008 Former Germany boss Jürgen Klinsmann will succeed Ottmar Hitzfeld as Bayern head coach on 1 July 2008, the club announced on Friday.
The appointment sees Klinsmann return to the club where he won UEFA Cup and German championship honours in a two-year stint as a player between 1995 and 1997.
The former world-class striker won 108 international caps and captained his country to Euro 1996 glory, before coaching Germany to third place at the 2006 FIFA World Cup on home soil. The 43-year-old will now take on the challenge of leading Bayern to domestic and European success.

Wow, I was not expecting that. I figured he'd be in that position just slightly sooner than Lothar.
I didn't think they would announce something this early as well.

Wow.
I'm stunned. Absolutely stunned. Didn't see this coming at all.
I like Klinsi...I just hope he'll end up being the right fit.
EDIT:
Also, it'll be weird having a coach who's barely older than Oliver Kahn....
Well, I'm (positively) shocked and kinda impressed by this decision by both Bayern AND Jürgen.

i to am shocked , but positively.
i never though bayern would do something that appears as risky as this and that klinsman would accept it .
klinsman is not just the feel-good motivator of players . he is very serious about football and about educating himself on all aspects of the game.
that he is willing to leave his comfortable life in California shows just how much he wants a huge challenge like this.
he is very intelligent and knows exactly what's he good at and in which area he needs help. and he's not clueless about tactics either.

Like you guys need a tactician?
Your players are so talented that if they are properly motivated, you guys can kick ass playing a basic 4-4-2!
