This was a VERY young team. At least four of these guys are U18/19s.

It's going to be worse, as 11 of the 12 "Groups" in the first round (if the current proposal is approved) will have three teams ( 4 matches), double the unnecessary pain.
We are starting to make Oceania look more serious than us!
Canada-USVI second leg just kicked off. Updates on the CSA website:

4-0 Canada after the first 25 minutes....
Looks like another long game for the USVI players.

Final score:
Canada 8
USVI 0
Canada now moves on to a much harder matchup against El Salvador.
I expect to see a very different team called up for that series. Hopefully we'll see the likes of DeGuzman, Klukowski, Hume, et al., but I doubt we'll see all of them.

The game is still on with Canada ahead 12-0 with 15 minutes to go. So that's 22-0 on aggregate (and counting).

LOL, I just assumed it was the final when I read the score... it's actually up to 13-0 now :)

14-0 now in the 87th minute...
Why did St Lucia get a bye to the next round? Wouldn't it have been better for all concerned if St Lucia played the USVI?

The only teams that got automatic byes were the USA and Honduras (2000 qualifiers) and Mexico (final tournament host). St. Lucia and El Salvador lucked into byes by being drawn against teams that later withdrew.

It's really too bad there haven't been more of these. Might serve to embarass CONCACAF officials enough to drop the current WCQ structure and go back to the old.

What's embarassing about giving every nation in the Confederation a fair and equal chance to advance to the finals?

its simple:
confederation A
confederation B
Should play different set of games, or use the darn FIFA rankings to pair up this poor futbol teams. Among the top 50 ranked (one grp), will play later the top 5 from the rest of the minows(2nd grp). What a waste of time and resources.

What's unfair about having preliminary rounds to weed out the pretenders that have absolutely NO shot of success in the later rounds.

Costa Rica 15, Belize 0
Erick Scott with four goals and four assists before being subbed out at minute 75.
According to Belize coach Wilfredo Levy, "We fell to Costa Rica because our system failed, and because one player didn't close down space."
