This is in the print version of "Kicker" today. No link to provide.
==============
"Kicker" took the players rated worst at each position in the first half of the season and made a team.
To "qualify" for the team, a player had to be rated at least five times during the first half of the season.
First, the updated ratings key:
1: World Class/Superb
2: International Class/Very Good
3: Slightly Above Average/Decent
4: Slightly Below Average/Bad
5: Pretty Bad
6: Completely Sucked/Should Find A New Profession
Here is the team.
It is shown as "player's name (player's team/average rating)."
=====================Piplica (Cottbus/3.65)===========================
Bollmann (Bielefeld/4.64)=====Wörns (Dortmund/4.45)=======Beauchamp (1. FCN/4.50)
=======================Tesche (Bielefeld/4.61)==========================
=======Grahn (Berlin/4.67)==============================Yelen (Rostock/4.60)
=======================Farnerud (Stuttgart/4.60)=========================
Lövenkrands (Schalke/4.67)=======Lauth (Hannover/5.00)======Andre Lima (Berlin/4.75)
I cannot say I am surprised by Piplica, Wörns, Lima and Lauth.
Shit. Wörns' score would be even higher if the freakin' "Kicker" guys were not blaming Kovac for Wörns' failures in the first few weeks of the season!
I am surprised a bit by Yelen. I really think Yelen will develop into quite a good player if he can get out of Rostock. But I guess I'm thinking more of his potential than anything he has actually done.
Here are the ten overall worst rated players of the season's first half:
1. Benjamin Lauth (Hannover/5.00)
2. Andre Lima (Berlin/4.75)
3. Peter Lövenkrands (Schalke/4.67)
Tobias Grahn (Berlin/4.67)
5. Markus Bollmann (Bielefeld/4.64)
6. Robert Tesche (Bielefeld/4.61)
7. Zafer Yelen (Rostock/4.60)
Alexander Farnerud (Stuttgart/4.60)
9. Regis Dorn (Rostock/4.58)
10. Stiven Rivic (Cottbus/4.57)

I'm impressed by Lauth's average. You really do have to play bad in order to gain an average of 5. Not many people can achieve that.
Too bad Zidan couldn't make the team. What a bust, but his 4 average is too good to be on the worst team.
Congrats to Nutella-Boy! :D
I'm quite idifferent to him like most 96 fans.
I predicted before that only one of Hanke and Lauth would work out and it looks like this is the case.
He's totally invisible on the field, like a ghost and he also doesn't seem to be really a part of the team off the field.
He reminds me of Deisler, he should really try to talk to a psychiatrist, maybe one could really help him out, the mental part is such a big part of being a successfull player.

Well, I cannot say I am surprised. I said Lauth was overrated back when he was with 1860. When the whole offense is geared to make you look good, of course you are going to score some goals.
In my opinion, Benjamin Lauth is a "production" of the German media and 1860's now defunct "Germans First" policy.
He has always been overrated. He's a decent 2. Liga striker at best.
People used to tell me that I was just pi$$ed off because when Lauth got his push from 1860, his strike partner on the 1860 amateur team was actually the better player and I favored him. But he wasn't German.
He was the USA's Taylor Twellman. I only knew that much because I covered them from time to time when I was reporting.
1860's amateur coach back then said the club was pushing the wrong player, but they had just adopted that damned "Germans First" policy.
That policy is arguably what got 1860 relegated too. Had they not geared their offense to feature one guy, they might have survived.
But that's neither here nor there. Even as Lauth was scoring at 1860, I told people I thought he would not do well anywhere else because he's a f#cking fraud.
He is a little better than I thought he would be, but overall I've never been so right about anything in my life.
I honestly think Lauth should do what Daniel Bierofka and Markus Schroth have done.
Find his way back to 1860.......

I'd still take Lauth if he comes cheap, though. Maybe F96 can convince the powers :D.

He'd go back to 1860 first. And they'd take him too.

Not surprised Grahn was there...he's amazingly rubbish. Lima...well he needs people who can cross the ball, and Hertha have no one to that...
Really surprised Chahed is not in here either...

Well Lima also got a 6 one time because of a dive didn't he? That's also a reason why his average is so bad.

No that was Lucio against VfB Stuttgart...
Lima has had one good game incidently against Hannover, where he had a goal and should have had another but for a phantom offsides. All the rest of the games, we were playing 10 v 11 for all I care...

Farnerud the legend :cool:
I still think he has talent, he just hasn't shown enough. As an extra he's alright to have in the side.

i don't like calling players who are playing pro-football crap, i know it takes a lot of talent and work just to get there at all , but i have to agree that some of these guys are really poor players for this level.
lovenkrads is the guy that comes first to my mind.

I think Lovenkrands is a good player personally, he would flourish in many other sides.

I quite Lovenkrands as well...not as well as Ozil and Rakitic and Asamoah mind you, but he's a good player.
Last year he was quality, remember hte goal he scored against Werder, top drawer.

See, I don't see how you can say a player has "quality" and then just mention one goal he scored.
Plenty of players who've done nothing else in their careers have "nice goals."
I think Lovenkrands is a decent player, but I don't think he would start on any of the other top BL teams.
And remember, this list is just from kicker ratings based from what the players have done on the pitch so far this season.
If they are on this list, they have no one to blame but themselves........

He scored a few more goals as well. I don't think anyone sees him starting for top clubs anymore, but I'd think he'd do a job for someone like Duisburg, although I can't put my head around why anyone with any quality would go there :p

And that's why Lovenkrands would fit there.......

"It´s hard for every striker to score in Duisburg.
Not even Samuel Eto´o would score goals for this club."
Guess, who made the comment, ..., ok, the next quote helps. ;)
"The team doesn´t work, so Ailton doesn´t work."
